Summary

This 2024 Nissan X-Terra SE offers a compelling balance of modern family utility and rugged durability for the GCC market. With under 50,000 km, this white exterior example sits well below the typical annual mileage for regional SUVs, presenting a fresh opportunity for long-term ownership. Unlike many road-biased crossovers, the X-Terra uses a robust body-on-frame construction that handles the heat and varied terrain of the Emirates with ease. The 2.5L engine is optimized for fuel efficiency, making it a practical choice for daily commutes in Dubai or Riyadh while still offering seven seats for weekend family trips. As a GCC-spec model with one of the strongest resale colors in the region, it represents a secure and reliable investment.

This Car vs Other 2024 X Terras

With 49,789 km on the odometer, this X-Terra has been driven significantly less than the 25,000 km annual average typical for GCC SUVs. The white exterior is the most sought-after color in the local used market, ensuring maximum heat reflection during summer and superior resale liquidity compared to darker shades. Being a 2024 model, it benefits from the latest refinement updates while avoiding the steep initial depreciation of a showroom-fresh unit.

SE vs Lower Trims

The SE trim serves as the balanced entry point, adding 17-inch alloy wheels and roof rails that are essential for the GCC lifestyle. Inside, it features the 7-inch Advanced Driver Assist Display and cruise control, which are major comfort upgrades for long highway drives between Emirates. It also includes the Intelligent Key with push-button start, a feature often missing on basic commercial-spec utility vehicles.

X Terra vs Segment Rivals

Compared to the Toyota Fortuner 2.7L, the X-Terra offers a more modern 7-speed automatic transmission that provides smoother shifts on the highway. Its 78-litre fuel tank is one of the largest in its class, offering superior cruising range for cross-border trips compared to the Mitsubishi Montero Sport. Additionally, the X-Terra is widely praised in the region for having a more composed on-road ride quality than its leaf-sprung competitors.

Running Costs & Resale

The 2.5L powertrain is known for its durability and relatively low running costs, with a real-world combined fuel consumption of approximately 11.4 km/L. Nissan’s authorized service network is among the most extensive in the GCC, ensuring easy access to parts and maintenance from Abu Dhabi to Muscat. Historically, the X-Terra retains roughly 70-73% of its value after three years, outperforming most European rivals in the same segment.

Performance & Capability

Powered by a 2.5L four-cylinder engine producing 165 hp and 241 Nm of torque, this SUV is built for steady reliability rather than outright speed. The rear-wheel-drive configuration is perfectly suited for city driving and graded gravel tracks, while the 243 mm ground clearance allows it to clear obstacles that would stop standard sedans. A 32.3-degree approach angle ensures it can handle steep inclines during weekend camping trips in the desert outskirts.

Comfort & Cabin

The interior is designed for family logistics, featuring seven seats with dedicated rear AC vents that are vital for maintaining passenger comfort during the peak GCC summer. The SE cabin is finished in durable fabric that stays cooler than leather when parked in direct sunlight. Fold-flat rear seats provide significant cargo flexibility, making it easy to transition from school runs to hauling outdoor gear.

Safety

Standard safety equipment on this SE trim includes dual front airbags, Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), and Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD). It also features Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC) and a Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), which are essential for maintaining stability on high-speed highways and hot asphalt. Hill Start Assist is also included to provide extra security when navigating sloping terrain or parking ramps.

The bottom line

This is an ideal choice for a GCC family looking for a nearly-new, high-utility SUV that avoids the high fuel costs of a V6 while maintaining excellent regional resale value.
