Summary

This 2024 Nissan X-Terra Platinum is a standout choice for GCC families, offering the high-spec features of a luxury SUV with the proven reliability of Nissan's truck-based DNA. As the range-topping Platinum trim, it provides a significantly more refined cabin than base models, making it ideal for the high-mileage highway lifestyle common in the region. Black is a highly desirable resale color in the UAE and Saudi markets, further strengthening its long-term value. Compared to heavier V6 rivals, its efficient 2.5L engine offers a balanced mix of urban agility and reliable cruising.

This Car vs Other 2024 X Terras

With just under 30,000 km, this X-Terra sits well below the typical GCC annual average of 25,000 km per year. The black exterior is a high-demand resale choice in the local market, offering better value retention than niche colors. As a GCC-spec vehicle, it benefits from localized cooling and a full authorized service history.

Platinum vs Lower Trims

The Platinum trim adds essential premium features missing from the SE and Titanium, including quilted leather upholstery and an 8-speaker Bose audio system. It also upgrades the safety suite with a 360° Around View Monitor and Intelligent Cruise Control, which are highly valued for navigating fast-moving multi-lane highways in Dubai and Riyadh.

X Terra vs Segment Rivals

The X-Terra leads the Toyota Fortuner and Mitsubishi Montero Sport in ride comfort thanks to its multi-link rear suspension while maintaining serious off-road hardware. Its 78-liter fuel tank is specifically sized for long-distance desert highway runs, providing a competitive range for cross-emirate travel.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption averages 11.4 L/100km, performing efficiently in GCC stop-start traffic compared to larger V6 competitors. Nissan’s extensive authorized service network ensures parts are readily available from Abu Dhabi to Muscat. Historically, the X-Terra retains approximately 73% of its value after three years in the GCC, making it one of the more stable investments in the mid-size SUV segment.

Performance & Capability

Equipped with a 2.5L engine producing 165 hp and 241 Nm of torque, this SUV is tuned for reliable cruising and light desert adventures. The 243 mm ground clearance and selectable 4WD with a locking rear differential provide genuine capability for weekend camping trips. A 7-speed automatic transmission ensures smooth transitions during high-speed highway overtaking.

Comfort & Cabin

The seven-seat cabin is designed for the GCC climate, featuring a powerful dual-zone AC system with dedicated vents for all three rows. Platinum-exclusive quilted leather seats and acoustic glass provide a quiet, insulated environment even during peak summer heat. The 'Zero Gravity' seats are specifically engineered to reduce fatigue on long hauls between cities.

Safety

This trim features a comprehensive ADAS suite including Blind Spot Warning, Lane Departure Warning, and Rear Cross Traffic Alert, essential for safety on busy UAE highways. Intelligent Forward Collision Warning and Emergency Braking come standard, providing an extra layer of protection for family use.

The bottom line

This Platinum edition X-Terra is the ideal opportunity for a buyer seeking a near-new, high-spec family SUV that balances daily fuel economy with genuine weekend off-road capability.
