Summary

This 2024 Nissan X-Trail S is a compelling choice for families, offering a rare balance of seven-seat capacity and capable four-wheel drive. With 58,289 km on the clock, its usage reflects the typical long-distance highway patterns common across the GCC, ensuring the engine has consistently operated at optimal temperatures. Finished in white, it holds the strongest possible resale advantage in the regional used market. In a segment where many rivals offer five seats as standard, the X-Trail's intelligent packaging and proven reliability make it one of the most practical family workhorses available today. Nissan's unmatched service network across the UAE and the wider GCC ensures long-term ownership is both predictable and affordable.

This Car vs Other 2024 X-Trails

At two years old and with 58,289 km, this X-Trail has been used precisely as intended for a GCC family SUV. Its mileage is consistent with regional averages, where longer commutes and cross-emirate trips are the norm, often resulting in better mechanical health than lower-mileage city-only cars. The white exterior is the most sought-after color in the local market, ensuring faster resale and better value retention when you eventually decide to upgrade.

S vs Lower Trims

The S trim with 4WD and 7 seats represents a significant upgrade over the base 2WD 5-seater variant, adding the essential traction needed for weekend beach trips and the extra row for larger families. While it maintains a focus on value, it includes vital regional comforts like rear AC vents and cruise control as standard. Choosing this configuration avoids the high depreciation of front-wheel-drive crossovers that are less desirable in the GCC used market.

X-Trail vs Segment Rivals

The X-Trail leads competitors like the Toyota RAV4 and Mazda CX-5 by offering a usable third row of seats, a feature often reserved for much larger, more expensive vehicles. While the Honda CR-V focuses on road manners, the X-Trail’s 2.5L powertrain and intelligent AWD system provide a more robust feel for regional highway driving and light sandy terrain. It strikes a unique balance between compact outer dimensions and genuine seven-passenger flexibility.

Running Costs & Resale

Fuel consumption for the 2.5L engine typically averages between 7.5 and 9.0 L/100km depending on the mix of highway and city traffic. Maintenance is straightforward with 10,000 km service intervals, and Nissan’s extensive authorized center presence across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Oman makes servicing exceptionally convenient. Historically, GCC-spec X-Trails are among the slowest-depreciating vehicles in their class, often retaining over 80% of their value after two years.

Performance & Capability

The naturally aspirated 2.5-litre 4-cylinder engine delivers a smooth, linear power delivery that is perfectly suited for steady highway cruising at 120 km/h. Its intelligent four-wheel-drive system includes selectable modes, including a Snow/Gravel setting that provides extra confidence on loose surfaces during weekend outings. With approximately 210 mm of ground clearance, it easily handles high curbs and uneven wadi tracks that would challenge a standard sedan.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is designed for family logistics, featuring Nissan's EZ Flex seating system which allows the second row to slide and recline for improved third-row access. The air conditioning system is specifically engineered for the high-temperature GCC climate, with dedicated rear vents ensuring all seven passengers stay cool during mid-summer drives. High-quality cloth upholstery is chosen for durability and remains significantly cooler than leather when the car is parked in the sun.

Safety

Safety is a primary strength, backed by a 5-star ANCAP rating that covers both adult and child occupant protection. Standard equipment on this trim includes essential active systems like Electronic Stability Control, Traction Control, and Hill Start Assist to manage varied GCC road surfaces. The inclusion of multiple airbags and ISOFIX anchors in the second row makes it a top-tier choice for safety-conscious parents.

The bottom line

For the GCC buyer who needs seven seats without the bulk of a full-size SUV, this GCC-spec X-Trail offers the perfect combination of utility, proven reliability, and strong resale prospects.
