Summary

This 2024 Suzuki Ciaz GL is a highly practical choice for the GCC market, combining a manual transmission with one of the most fuel-efficient engines in the sedan segment. The grey exterior is a neutral, high-demand choice that supports strong resale value across the Emirates. Despite its compact footprint, it offers interior dimensions that rival larger sedans, particularly in rear legroom and cargo capacity. For a buyer prioritizing low running costs and mechanical simplicity, this manual GL trim represents a reliable long-term ownership proposition. It is perfectly suited for daily city commuting or high-mileage highway use across the region.

This Car vs Other 2024 Suzuki Ciazs

With just over 91,000 km, this Ciaz shows mileage consistent with a vehicle used for longer highway commutes, common in the UAE. While higher than the regional average of 25,000 km per year, this reflects its suitability for distance driving, and the manual gearbox offers a level of mechanical robustness often preferred for high-use vehicles. The grey finish is a practical choice for the local climate, showing less dust and heat absorption than darker tones while maintaining strong resale demand.

GL vs Lower Trims

As the GL trim, this model provides the essential comforts needed for regional driving, including a efficient 1.5L engine and power windows. While the higher GLX adds items like a rear camera and automatic climate control, the GL manual is favored by pragmatic buyers for its simplicity and reduced long-term maintenance costs. It retains the same class-leading cabin space and massive boot as the higher specifications.

Ciaz vs Segment Rivals

The Suzuki Ciaz leads its segment rivals, such as the Nissan Sunny and Toyota Yaris, when it comes to wheelbase length and rear passenger legroom. Its 495-litre boot is significantly more commodious than many competitors, making it a superior choice for small families or airport runs. Furthermore, the 1.5L K15B engine is renowned for its thermal efficiency, providing a competitive edge in fuel savings during stop-start city traffic.

Running Costs & Resale

Ownership costs for the Ciaz are among the lowest in the GCC, with a manufacturer-claimed fuel economy of roughly 6.0 L/100km. Suzuki's massive service network across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Oman ensures that parts are affordable and maintenance is accessible. The model historically retains its value well due to its reputation for Japanese reliability, typically depreciating at a stable rate compared to European or American alternatives in the same price bracket.

Performance & Capability

The 1.5-litre 4-cylinder engine produces a reliable 103 hp and 138 Nm of torque, which feels responsive when paired with the 5-speed manual transmission. This gearbox allows the driver to better manage power for highway overtaking and ensures maximum efficiency. With a top speed of approximately 165 km/h, it is more than capable of handling the fast-moving traffic on the E11 and other major regional arteries comfortably.

Comfort & Cabin

The interior of the Ciaz is designed for comfort during the harsh GCC summers, featuring a powerful air conditioning system and a spacious layout for five adults. The 2,650 mm wheelbase translates into best-in-class rear legroom, ensuring that even tall passengers remain comfortable on cross-country trips. The cabin is well-insulated from road noise, providing a refined environment for an entry-level sedan.

Safety

Standard safety features on this GCC-spec GL trim include dual front airbags and an Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD). These systems provide essential stability and stopping power on sand-dusted or wet road surfaces. The vehicle is built on Suzuki's TECT (Total Effective Control Technology) platform, which uses high-tensile steel to enhance occupant protection in the event of a collision.

The bottom line

This 2024 Ciaz is the ideal match for a cost-conscious buyer who needs a nearly new, GCC-spec sedan with maximum interior space and proven mechanical durability.
