Summary

This two-year-old Toyota Fortuner EXR is a standout choice for GCC buyers, combining practical seven-seat versatility with a mileage profile that aligns perfectly with regional driving averages. The white exterior is the most sought-after color in the local used market, ensuring significantly stronger resale value and better heat reflection during the summer months. As a GCC-spec vehicle, it offers the essential cooling and filtration systems required to handle extreme desert temperatures and long-distance highway commutes between emirates. With its body-on-frame construction and proven 2.7L powertrain, this listing represents a reliable entry into the world of genuine 4WD ownership without the higher running costs of a V6.

This Car vs Other 2024 Fortuners

With 43,000 km on the odometer, this vehicle sits at a standard average for a two-year-old SUV in the GCC, where annual distances typically reach 20,000 to 25,000 km. The white exterior provides a distinct advantage at resale, as it remains the most liquid color for Toyota SUVs in the UAE and Saudi markets. Buyers will find this specific example offers a balanced mechanical history suitable for both city-based family duties and weekend highway trips.

EXR vs Lower Trims

The EXR trim serves as the essential gateway to Toyota's 4WD lineup, providing a 6-speed automatic transmission and a part-time 4x4 system with a low-range transfer case as standard. Unlike entry-level two-wheel-drive variants, the EXR is equipped with rear parking sensors, cruise control, and an 8-inch touchscreen display featuring Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. These additions significantly improve daily drivability in heavy city traffic and provide the necessary connectivity for modern GCC commuters.

Fortuner vs Segment Rivals

Compared to rivals like the Mitsubishi Montero Sport or Ford Everest, the Fortuner leads with its massive 80-litre fuel tank, which provides superior range for long desert highway stretches. Its body-on-frame architecture offers a level of rugged durability that monocoque competitors cannot match for frequent off-road use. Furthermore, the extensive availability of spare parts and specialized technicians across the UAE makes it a more practical long-term ownership proposition than many of its peers.

Running Costs & Resale

The 2.7L engine is optimized for efficiency in stop-start city traffic, achieving a manufacturer-rated 10.4 km/L, which helps lower the cost of ownership compared to larger V6 models. Service intervals are typically every 10,000 km or 6 months at authorized Al-Futtaim centers, with a widespread network ensuring easy maintenance access from Abu Dhabi to the Northern Emirates. Toyota Fortuners consistently boast one of the lowest depreciation rates in the region, typically retaining over 70% of their value after three years.

Performance & Capability

Built for versatility, the 164 hp powertrain is paired with a selectable 4WD system and a rear differential lock, allowing it to handle soft sand and gravel trails with ease. A generous ground clearance of 225 mm ensures that speed bumps in the city and uneven terrain in the desert are managed without risk to the underbody. The 6-speed automatic transmission is tuned for smooth highway cruising, making long-distance drives between Dubai and Muscat comfortable and controlled.

Comfort & Cabin

The seven-seat interior is designed for family logistics, featuring a 60:40 split-folding second row and a dedicated rear climate zone with roof-mounted vents to ensure all passengers stay cool in 45-degree heat. Durable fabric seating is a practical choice for the GCC climate, as it remains significantly cooler to the touch than leather after hours of sun exposure. Technology highlights include a 4.2-inch color TFT display in the instrument cluster and multiple USB charging ports to keep devices powered during long family road trips.

Safety

Safety is prioritized with three standard airbags, including a driver knee airbag, alongside essential active systems like Vehicle Stability Control (VSC) and Traction Control (TRC). The Hill-start Assist Control (HAC) is particularly useful for maintaining control on steep dune inclines or multi-story parking ramps. Standard ISOFIX points in the second row and a Tyre Pressure Warning System (TPWS) provide added peace of mind for family buyers navigating fast-moving highway traffic.

The bottom line

Perfect for the value-conscious family or desert enthusiast, this GCC-spec Fortuner offers the ideal mix of Toyota reliability and strong local resale potential.
