Summary

This 2024 Toyota Land Cruiser GXR combines the legendary reliability of the 4.0L V6 with the refined J300-series chassis, making it a definitive choice for GCC motorists. With 65,000 km, this unit has been consistently used for the long-distance highway travel these vehicles are engineered for, while its white exterior remains the most desirable color for heat reflection and high resale demand. The GXR trim balances essential off-road hardware with modern family comforts, ensuring it remains as capable in the Liwa dunes as it is on the E11 highway. For a buyer in the Gulf, the peace of mind offered by Toyota's unmatched parts availability and service network is the primary ownership advantage.

This Car vs Other 2024 Land Cruisers

With 65,000 km on the odometer, this Land Cruiser has averaged roughly 32,500 km per year, which is typical for a primary vehicle in the GCC where highway commuting between Emirates is common. While lower-mileage examples exist, this vehicle represents a mechanical sweet spot where the powertrain is well-broken-in but still within its prime operational window. The white exterior is the highest-performing resale color in the regional market, offering a distinct value advantage over darker shades.

GXR vs Lower Trims

The GXR trim elevates the Land Cruiser experience over the base GX by adding 20-inch alloy wheels, a larger 12.3-inch infotainment display, and a powered tailgate. Crucially for the GCC climate, it features a center console cooler box and remote engine start, allowing you to pre-cool the cabin before entry. It also includes upgraded interior materials and enhanced parking sensors that make the full-size SUV easier to navigate in tight city spaces.

Land Cruiser vs Segment Rivals

Compared to the Nissan Patrol, the Land Cruiser leads in long-term value retention and the sheer density of its service network across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Oman. While the 4.0L V6 is built for durability rather than outright speed, its 110-litre fuel tank offers significant cruising range for cross-border drives where competitors often require more frequent stops. Its body-on-frame construction provides a level of ruggedness that unibody rivals like the Land Rover Defender cannot match for long-term desert use.

Running Costs & Resale

The naturally aspirated V6 is designed to run efficiently on widely available fuel grades across the region, with real-world consumption averaging approximately 10.6 L/100km on the highway. Maintenance is straightforward with 10,000 km service intervals, supported by an authorized network that spans every major city in the GCC. The Land Cruiser traditionally sees the lowest depreciation rates in its segment, typically losing only 8-10% of its value annually compared to 15% or more for European luxury SUVs.

Performance & Capability

The 271 hp V6 engine is paired with a robust 6-speed automatic transmission and a permanent four-wheel-drive system featuring a locking center differential. It maintains a 3,500 kg braked towing capacity, making it ideal for hauling boats or trailers to the coast. With a 235 mm ground clearance and specialized drive modes like Crawl Control and Turn Assist, it handles deep sand and rocky wadis with the composure that has made the nameplate a legend in the Middle East.

Comfort & Cabin

Inside, the three-row configuration comfortably seats seven, with a redesigned third row that folds flat into the floor to maximize cargo space. The tri-zone climate control system is purpose-built for 50-degree summers, featuring dedicated vents for all three rows to ensure rapid cooling. Premium touches include a leather-wrapped multifunction steering wheel and a wireless smartphone charger, catering to both long family road trips and daily executive commutes.

Safety

Safety is managed by a comprehensive suite that includes 10 airbags, electronic brakeforce distribution, and brake assist as standard. This trim is equipped with front and rear parking sensors and a high-definition rearview camera to aid visibility. For highway safety, it features stability and traction control systems that are specifically calibrated to manage the vehicle's mass on both high-speed tarmac and loose sand surfaces.

The bottom line

This Land Cruiser GXR is the ideal choice for a family or executive buyer who prioritizes legendary Japanese reliability and high resale value above all else. It is a turn-key solution for anyone needing a dependable, GCC-ready workhorse that holds its worth better than almost any other vehicle on the market.
