Summary

This 2019 Land Cruiser VXR represents the peak of the 200-series generation, combining a powerful V8 powertrain with the highest luxury trim available for the region. Finished in silver—a top-tier choice for heat reflection and resale value in the GCC—this SUV offers a refined ownership experience despite its 150,000 km, which is well within the expected lifecycle for a vehicle of this durability. As a VXR, it stands above rivals by offering a rare mix of executive comfort and genuine desert-conquering hardware that is becoming increasingly scarce in the modern SUV market. For a buyer in the UAE or KSA, this remains the gold standard for long-distance highway stability and cross-border desert touring. Owning a GCC-spec Land Cruiser ensures total parts availability and expert service support in every corner of the region.

This Car vs Other 2019 Land Cruisers

At 150,000 km, this vehicle has covered approximately 25,000 km per year, which is typical for a family or executive SUV in the highway-heavy GCC environment. While lower-mileage examples exist, this silver VXR offers a significant price advantage while maintaining the high-demand color and regional specification that protects long-term resale value. The silver exterior is particularly prized in local markets for its ability to hide desert dust and stay cooler under the intense summer sun.

VXR vs Lower Trims

The VXR trim is the flagship of the 200-series, notably adding the larger 5.7-litre V8 and 8-speed transmission that are absent in the EXR and GXR models. Luxury is elevated with standard features like the 14-speaker JBL Synthesis audio system, rear-seat entertainment screens, and a 360-degree camera system for easier urban parking. Most importantly for GCC drivers, the VXR includes Adaptive Variable Suspension (AVS) for a smoother ride on long desert highways compared to the standard setup on lower trims.

Land Cruiser vs Segment Rivals

While rivals like the Nissan Patrol offer similar space, the Land Cruiser VXR leads in the used market due to its legendary resale value and the durability of its naturally aspirated V8. Compared to the Chevrolet Tahoe or Ford Expedition, the Land Cruiser provides a 138-litre dual fuel tank system that is essential for long-distance desert trips and cross-emirate commutes. Its shorter wheelbase also gives it a distinct advantage in technical off-roading compared to American full-size alternatives.

Running Costs & Resale

The 5.7-litre V8 delivers a manufacturer-rated combined fuel economy of approximately 15.7 L/100km, which is standard for a heavy-duty petrol SUV in the GCC. Service intervals are typically every 10,000 km, supported by one of the most comprehensive authorized service networks in the world across the UAE, KSA, and Kuwait. Land Cruisers of this generation famously retain over 70% of their value even after three years, making them one of the safest financial investments in the regional used car market. Parts are readily available at both official dealerships and independent specialists, keeping long-term maintenance costs predictable.

Performance & Capability

The flagship 362 hp V8 engine allows this SUV to reach 100 km/h in 7 seconds, providing confident overtaking power on fast-moving highways like Sheikh Zayed Road. Off-road, the VXR is equipped with a low-range transfer case, locking differentials, and Toyota’s specialized Crawl Control, which manages throttle and braking automatically in deep sand. With a 220 km/h top speed and robust body-on-frame construction, it is engineered to handle extreme heat and corrugated desert tracks without compromising mechanical integrity. This specific powertrain is renowned for reaching high mileages with only routine maintenance.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin comfortably seats seven across three rows, with the top-tier VXR leather upholstery providing a premium feel for long family road trips. High-output GCC-spec air conditioning with rear-seat climate zones ensures rapid cooling even when ambient temperatures exceed 45°C. Practical luxury features include a cooled centre console refrigerator for drinks and acoustic glass that significantly reduces wind noise during high-speed cruising. The driver benefits from a power-adjustable seat with memory and a large touchscreen interface that integrates navigation and the premium JBL audio suite.

Safety

The 2019 VXR is equipped with a comprehensive safety suite including 7 airbags, Blind Spot Monitoring, and Rear Cross Traffic Alert, which are vital for the UAE's multi-lane highway traffic. The Multi-Terrain ABS and Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD) are specifically tuned for varied surfaces, providing stability on both wet tarmac and loose gravel. Standard Front and Rear Parking Sensors paired with a 360-degree Panoramic View Monitor ensure that this full-sized SUV is easy to maneuver in tight urban environments.

The bottom line

This Land Cruiser VXR is the ideal choice for a buyer who wants the ultimate V8 luxury and off-road capability of the 200-series with the peace of mind that comes from a silver GCC-spec Toyota.
