Summary

This 2024 Land Cruiser GXR offers the ideal balance of Toyota’s legendary durability and the latest 300-series refinement. As a two-year-old vehicle with 68,000 km, it has already cleared the initial steep depreciation while remaining under the reliability umbrella of the naturally aspirated 4.0L V6. The white exterior is the most practical choice for the GCC, providing excellent heat reflection and ensuring the highest possible resale liquidity in the local market. Compared to the twin-turbo variants, this V6 powertrain is highly prized by long-term owners for its mechanical simplicity and proven performance in extreme desert heat. For a GCC buyer, this listing represents a secure investment in a vehicle that holds its value better than almost any other SUV in the region.

This Car vs Other 2024 Land Cruisers

With 68,000 km over two years, this vehicle reflects typical high-utility GCC usage, where annual averages often reach 30,000 km due to frequent inter-emirate highway travel. While mileage is standard for a daily-driven SUV of this age, the GCC specification ensures the cooling system and air conditioning are factory-optimized for 50°C summers. The white paintwork is a significant advantage, as it is the most requested color in the UAE and Saudi markets, bolstering future trade-in value.

GXR vs Lower Trims

The GXR trim is a significant step up from the base EXR, adding features that are essential for the regional climate and lifestyle, such as a remote engine starter to pre-cool the cabin. It typically upgrades to 20-inch alloy wheels and a larger 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system with integrated navigation. Inside, you benefit from a powered driver’s seat and superior trim materials that provide a more premium feel during long-distance desert crossings.

Land Cruiser vs Segment Rivals

When cross-shopping against the Nissan Patrol or Land Rover Defender, the Land Cruiser leads with its massive 110-litre fuel capacity, providing superior range for remote touring across the Empty Quarter. Its body-on-frame construction offers a level of ruggedness that unibody rivals struggle to match in heavy off-road use. Furthermore, the 4.0L V6 is widely regarded as more heat-tolerant and easier to service in remote areas than the complex turbocharged engines found in many European competitors.

Running Costs & Resale

The 4.0L V6 averages approximately 10.2L/100km on the highway, though real-world GCC city driving typically sees 14-16L/100km due to heavy AC load and stop-start traffic. Maintenance is exceptionally straightforward, with a vast network of authorized service centers available in every major GCC city from Kuwait to Salalah. This model historically enjoys the lowest depreciation rate in the region, often retaining over 80% of its value after three years, making the total cost of ownership remarkably low.

Performance & Capability

The 271 hp V6 engine is paired with a robust 6-speed automatic transmission, delivering steady, reliable torque for both highway overtaking and soft-sand driving. It features a 235mm ground clearance and a 700mm wading depth, ensuring it can handle sudden wadi floods or deep desert dunes with ease. The inclusion of Crawl Control and a center locking differential allows even novice off-roaders to navigate challenging terrain with confidence.

Comfort & Cabin

This seven-seater configuration is designed for large families, featuring a powerful tri-zone climate control system with dedicated rear cooling vents that are vital for passenger comfort in the summer. The cabin is well-insulated from exterior wind noise, making it a quiet environment for long drives between Dubai and Riyadh. Technology is well-integrated, featuring wireless Apple CarPlay and multiple USB-C charging ports to keep the whole family connected during road trips.

Safety

Standard safety equipment on this GXR includes a comprehensive suite of airbags, including side-curtain and knee protection for the front occupants. It features high-utility active systems like Blind Spot Monitoring and Rear Cross Traffic Alert, which are particularly helpful when navigating fast-moving multi-lane highways. Stability and traction control are specifically calibrated for low-traction surfaces like sand and gravel, providing an extra layer of security during weekend off-road excursions.

The bottom line

This Land Cruiser is the perfect match for a GCC family or adventurer looking for a bulletproof SUV that will retain its value better than anything else on the road. It offers the peace of mind of a near-new vehicle with a proven powertrain that is built specifically for the demands of the Arabian Peninsula.
