Summary

This 2022 Toyota Land Cruiser VXR represents the top-tier luxury specification of the LC300 generation, pairing its powerful twin-turbo engine with flagship cabin refinements. With just 28,790 km on the odometer, this vehicle has been driven significantly less than the typical 20,000–25,000 km annual average for SUVs in the GCC. The white exterior is the most sought-after color for resale in the region, offering maximum heat reflection and long-term value retention. This model stands out by offering a level of interior luxury that rivals dedicated European luxury SUVs while maintaining the legendary reliability that local owners depend on. For the GCC buyer, this is the definitive choice for a vehicle that transitions seamlessly from executive city commuting to high-speed cross-border highway drives.

This Car vs Other 2022 Land Cruisers

At 28,790 km, this Land Cruiser has covered roughly half the mileage expected for a 4-year-old vehicle in the GCC market, where long highway commutes are standard. This low-mileage status represents a significant mechanical advantage and a higher future resale floor. The white exterior is the premier choice for the UAE and wider GCC, consistently commanding the fastest turnaround and highest prices in the used market.

VXR vs Lower Trims

The VXR trim is a substantial upgrade over the GXR, adding the premium 14-speaker JBL audio system and a larger 12.3-inch infotainment display as standard. It specifically targets GCC summer comfort with ventilated seats in both the front and second rows, alongside a four-zone climate control system. Additionally, the VXR includes the full Toyota Safety Sense suite and a 360-degree Panoramic View Monitor, features that are often optional or absent on lower grades.

Land Cruiser vs Segment Rivals

The Land Cruiser LC300 is primarily cross-shopped with the Nissan Patrol and the Land Rover Defender. It leads the segment with its massive 110-litre fuel tank, providing superior range for long desert highway stretches between cities like Dubai and Riyadh. While rivals may offer different aesthetic choices, the Land Cruiser’s specialized Multi-Terrain Select system and twin-turbo torque delivery provide a more composed experience on soft sand dunes and high-speed tarmac alike.

Running Costs & Resale

The 3.5L twin-turbo engine offers improved efficiency over the previous generation's V8, averaging approximately 12.1 L/100km on combined routes. Toyota maintains the most extensive authorized service network in the GCC, ensuring parts and expert technicians are available from Abu Dhabi to Muscat. This model is legendary for its value retention, typically depreciating at a much lower rate than European counterparts, often retaining over 75% of its value at the 3-year mark.

Performance & Capability

With 409 horsepower and 650 Nm of torque, the LC300 VXR delivers effortless overtaking power on fast-moving UAE highways. The 10-speed automatic transmission is tuned for smooth shifts during long-distance cruising while providing the low-end grunt needed for serious off-roading. Its body-on-frame construction and 235 mm of ground clearance ensure it remains the gold standard for weekend desert exploration without sacrificing road-going refinement.

Comfort & Cabin

The seven-seat cabin is finished in premium leather with walnut wood-grain accents, creating an executive atmosphere. To combat the extreme GCC heat, the VXR features a high-output air conditioning system with dedicated vents for all three rows and a cooled center console box for beverages. The acoustic glass and enhanced insulation provide a whisper-quiet ride, isolating passengers from both road noise and the exterior environment during summer drives.

Safety

Safety is a priority with the integrated Toyota Safety Sense platform, featuring Adaptive Cruise Control and Lane Trace Assist which are essential for reducing fatigue on long desert drives. The VXR comes standard with a comprehensive airbag system and blind-spot monitoring to navigate fast-moving multi-lane traffic safely. Its advanced stability control and Crawl Control systems also act as active safety layers when navigating unpredictable sand or gravel surfaces.

The bottom line

This low-mileage VXR is the perfect opportunity for a buyer who wants the flagship Land Cruiser experience with a nearly new mechanical profile and the region's best resale configuration.
