Summary

This one-year-old BMW X5 is a standout example in the GCC used market, with its mileage sitting well below the 20,000–25,000 km annual average for this region. Finished in a sophisticated grey that consistently commands strong resale value in the Emirates, this M60i variant bridges the gap between everyday luxury and pure performance. As the high-spec Masterclass trim, it features the refined V8 engine that long-distance highway drivers across the GCC prize for its effortless overtaking and smooth power delivery. With its local GCC specification, this car ensures full compatibility with regional service centers and provides peace of mind for buyers looking for a vehicle prepared for extreme summer heat.

This Car vs Other 2025 X5s

At 35,999 km, this vehicle’s usage is remarkably low compared to typical 1-year-old SUVs in the GCC, which often exceed 40,000 km due to frequent inter-emirate travel. The grey exterior is a highly desirable choice in the local market, offering better heat reflection than black while maintaining higher resale desirability than niche colors. Choosing this low-mileage GCC-spec model provides a distinct advantage in both mechanical longevity and future trade-in value.

M60i MASTERCLASS vs Lower Trims

The M60i Masterclass significantly upgrades the ownership experience over the xDrive40i by replacing the six-cylinder engine with a potent 4.4-litre V8. This trim adds essential GCC comforts as standard, including ventilated front seats and a Head-up Display, which are often optional on lower variants. Furthermore, it features an M Sport differential and Adaptive M Suspension, providing superior stability during high-speed highway cruising compared to the standard base models.

X5 vs Segment Rivals

When compared to the Mercedes-Benz GLE 53 and the Porsche Cayenne S, the X5 leads with its intuitive iDrive 8.5 interface and the generous 650-litre boot space. Its V8 powertrain offers a more visceral engine character than many hybridized rivals, making it a favorite for enthusiasts in the UAE and Saudi Arabia. Additionally, the X5's air conditioning system is widely regarded as one of the most robust in the luxury SUV segment, a critical factor for the GCC summer.

Running Costs & Resale

The M60i averages approximately 12.5 L/100km on the highway, though GCC stop-start city traffic can see this rise toward 16 L/100km. Service intervals are typically every 10,000 km or 12 months, with an extensive network of authorized BMW service centers across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait ensuring parts are always accessible. As a GCC-spec BMW, it retains value significantly better than imported counterparts, with a projected depreciation of roughly 12–15% annually in the local market.

Performance & Capability

Powered by a 4.4-litre TwinPower Turbo V8 producing 523 hp, this SUV hits 100 km/h in just 4.3 seconds, providing sports-car acceleration in a family-sized package. The xDrive four-wheel-drive system is expertly tuned for high-traction highway driving and handles gravel or light sand tracks with ease during weekend escapes. With a maximum top speed of 250 km/h, it is perfectly suited for long-distance cruising across the Arabian Peninsula's well-maintained highway networks.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is a sanctuary of tech and comfort, featuring the BMW Curved Display and multi-zone automatic climate control with dedicated rear vents. Standard ventilated seats are a necessity for the GCC climate, ensuring comfort even during the hottest months. High-quality acoustic glazing helps isolate passengers from road noise and desert heat, while the 16-speaker Harman Kardon system provides a premium audio experience for all five occupants.

Safety

Standard safety features on this trim include a comprehensive ADAS suite with Active Blind Spot Detection and Lane Departure Warning, essential for fast-moving multi-lane GCC highways. The 360-degree camera system makes parking in tight city spaces effortless, while Frontal Collision Warning and automatic city braking provide an extra layer of protection. These active systems, combined with a robust airbag arrangement, ensure top-tier safety for both daily commutes and family road trips.

The bottom line

This M60i Masterclass is the perfect choice for a buyer who wants M-power performance without sacrificing family practicality, offered here in a highly liquid GCC-spec configuration with impressively low mileage for its age.
