Summary

This 2025 Seltos EX represents a smart acquisition in the compact SUV segment, offering a modern crossover experience with just one year of road age. The EX trim is widely considered the sweet spot for the region, balancing essential tech with daily practicality. Finished in white, it occupies the most liquid segment of the GCC used market, ensuring strong resale desirability. As a high-efficiency 4-cylinder commuter, it excels in both stop-start city traffic and inter-emirate highway runs. For a GCC owner, the extensive service network and parts availability make this one of the most low-stress vehicles to maintain.

This Car vs Other 2025 Seltos

At only one year old, this vehicle offers a significant saving over showroom prices while remaining mechanically fresh. White is the premier resale color in the UAE and Saudi markets, often commanding faster turnaround times and higher value retention. Its condition as a near-new model year provides the benefit of the latest facelift styling and updated interior tech.

EX vs Lower Trims

The EX trim adds substantial value over the base LX, introducing features that are highly valued in the GCC like a larger 10.25-inch touchscreen with integrated navigation and push-button start. It upgrades the cabin with synthetic leather upholstery and standard rear parking sensors, which are essential for navigating tight urban parking. Additionally, the EX often includes standard LED daytime running lights that enhance the vehicle’s road presence compared to lower grades.

Seltos vs Segment Rivals

The Seltos leads competitors like the Nissan Kicks and Hyundai Creta by offering a more robust 433-litre boot that accommodates a full-size spare wheel—a critical feature for long-distance desert highway travel. Its fuel efficiency is among the best in the class, providing a superior range for the 50-litre tank. The inclusion of rear air conditioning vents as standard ensures it handles the extreme summer heat better than many entry-level rivals.

Running Costs & Resale

Fuel consumption is highly competitive, with real-world figures averaging 5.8 to 6.3 L/100km, making it an ideal choice for the daily commute. Service intervals are typically every 10,000 km, supported by one of the most widespread authorized service networks across the UAE, KSA, and Oman. Kia models currently enjoy a high level of market trust in the GCC, with the Seltos maintaining strong value retention due to high demand for reliable, fuel-efficient family crossovers.

Performance & Capability

The 1.5-litre Smartstream engine is tuned for smooth urban delivery, producing 115 hp through an automatic transmission that prioritizes comfort and efficiency. It is perfectly suited for the 120-140 km/h highway speeds common across the region, offering a stable and quiet ride. While designed for the road, its generous ground clearance allows it to handle gravel tracks and unpaved parking areas with ease during weekend outings.

Comfort & Cabin

The five-seat layout is designed for family versatility, featuring a cabin that stays remarkably cool thanks to a high-performance air conditioning system tailored for the Middle East. The EX trim provides upgraded soft-touch materials and a digital cockpit that feels a class above its price point. Extensive sound insulation helps isolate passengers from road noise during long cross-country drives.

Safety

Standard safety equipment on the EX includes dual front airbags, ABS, and Electronic Stability Control, providing a secure foundation for family travel. This trim also features a high-definition rearview camera and rear parking sensors to mitigate risks in crowded city environments. The body is constructed with high-strength steel to ensure passenger protection, a key consideration for the fast-moving traffic conditions found throughout the GCC.

The bottom line

For the pragmatist who wants a near-new SUV with the highest resale potential in the region, this 2025 Seltos EX is the definitive choice. It combines the reliability of a massive local service network with the modern tech expected in a current-generation crossover.
