Summary

This 2025 Toyota Land Cruiser GR Sport represents the pinnacle of the 300-series, featuring the newly introduced high-output hybrid powertrain that blends 790 Nm of torque with improved efficiency for the GCC's demanding environment. The white exterior remains the gold standard for resale value across the region, while the GR Sport trim specifically targets enthusiasts with its trail-ready 18-inch wheels and signature blacked-out styling. As a flagship SUV, it dominates the segment through a legendary reliability record and a cooling system engineered specifically to handle 50°C summer peaks. For the GCC buyer, this model offers the perfect balance of prestige, unmatched off-road hardware, and the future-proofing of a petrol-electric system.

This Car vs Other 2025 Land Cruisers

As a current-year 2025 model, this vehicle sits at the leading edge of the Land Cruiser's technology curve, specifically featuring the high-performance hybrid system that is still rare in the secondary market. The white paint is highly strategic for the GCC, offering the best heat rejection and maintaining the strongest resale liquidity. Compared to typical annual GCC usage, a 2025 model in this condition effectively offers a new-car experience with the immediate availability that avoids long dealership wait times.

GR SPORT vs Lower Trims

The GR Sport sits above the luxury-focused VXR, replacing road-biased 20-inch wheels with 18-inch alloys and all-terrain tires better suited for dune driving. It is the only trim equipped with E-KDSS, a sophisticated suspension system that electronically detaches stabilizer bars for maximum wheel articulation off-road while tightening for flat cornering on the highway. Inside, it swaps the standard wood grain for a GR-exclusive black and red theme with carbon-style accents and Gazoo Racing branding.

Land Cruiser vs Segment Rivals

The Land Cruiser leads rivals like the Nissan Patrol and Chevrolet Tahoe with its sophisticated parallel hybrid system that provides instant electric torque for sand recovery. Its 235mm ground clearance and triple locking differentials (front, center, and rear) provide a mechanical advantage in deep desert terrain that most unibody rivals cannot match. Furthermore, the Land Cruiser's extensive authorized service network across all seven Emirates and the wider GCC remains the most comprehensive in the industry.

Running Costs & Resale

The hybrid powertrain achieves a certified combined efficiency of 10.3 L/100km, a significant improvement for a vehicle of this size in stop-start city traffic in Dubai or Riyadh. Service intervals are typically every 10,000 km, supported by the largest parts distribution network in the Middle East, ensuring minimal downtime and predictable maintenance costs. Historically, the Land Cruiser GR Sport retains approximately 85-90% of its value after three years in the UAE, outperforming almost all European luxury SUV competitors.

Performance & Capability

The 3.5-litre twin-turbo V6 hybrid produces a combined 457 hp and a massive 790 Nm of torque, enabling effortless highway overtaking even when fully loaded. The GR-specific tuning includes a 31-degree approach angle, allowing it to tackle steep dunes that would stop lower-profile luxury SUVs. With full-time 4WD and a 10-speed automatic transmission, the power delivery is exceptionally smooth, whether crawling through technical wadi terrain or cruising at 140 km/h on the E11.

Comfort & Cabin

This seven-seat flagship features a four-zone climate control system with independent rear vents designed to keep all three rows at optimal temperatures during the height of summer. The cabin is equipped with ventilated front and second-row seats, a 14-speaker JBL premium audio system, and a factory-chilled center console refrigerator. The 12.3-inch infotainment screen supports wireless Apple CarPlay, while rear passengers benefit from dual 11-inch entertainment screens.

Safety

The 2025 GR Sport comes standard with Toyota Safety Sense 3.0, featuring a Pre-Collision System, Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, and Lane Tracing Assist for relaxed long-distance travel. The 3D Multi-Terrain Monitor provides a 360-degree view around the vehicle, including an 'under-floor' view which is critical for spotting rocks while off-roading. Additionally, 10 airbags and advanced stability control provide a secure environment for families during inter-city road trips.

The bottom line

This is the definitive choice for the GCC buyer who wants the most capable Land Cruiser ever built without the wait, combining the status of the GR Sport trim with the latest hybrid performance.
