Summary

This 2025 Toyota Prado GXR represents a complete redesign, moving to a modern 2.4L turbocharged powertrain that delivers significantly more torque than the outgoing V6 while maintaining legendary efficiency. Finished in white, the most requested color for resale in the UAE and Saudi markets, this seven-seater provides the perfect middle ground for families who need daily urban refinement and weekend capability. The GCC specification ensures the vehicle is fully equipped for regional heat with an upgraded cooling system and powerful multi-zone air conditioning. As a first-year model of the new 250-series generation, it offers a high-demand opportunity to own the latest technology with strong historical value retention. Reliability remains the core ownership consideration, backed by the most extensive service network across all seven emirates and the wider Gulf.

This Car vs Other 2025 Prados

With zero kilometers on the clock, this 2025 Prado offers the full advantage of a fresh manufacturer warranty and pristine mechanical health. While typical annual use for SUVs in the GCC often reaches 25,000 km, starting with a brand-new vehicle ensures the highest possible residual value. The white exterior is a strategic choice for the local market, offering the best heat reflection and the fastest turnaround time at resale compared to darker tones.

GXR vs Lower Trims

The GXR trim provides a significant step up from the base TXR, most notably adding the 12.3-inch high-resolution infotainment display with a more intuitive interface. Owners also benefit from ventilated front seats, an essential luxury for the GCC summer, and an electric tailgate for improved daily practicality. Safety is also enhanced with additional airbags and the inclusion of a panoramic camera system to assist in tight urban parking.

Prado vs Segment Rivals

The Prado continues to lead rivals like the Nissan Pathfinder and Ford Explorer in off-road hardware, featuring a dedicated low-range transfer case and locking differentials that its monocoque competitors lack. Its massive 110-litre fuel capacity offers a superior cruising range for long-distance desert highway drives between Abu Dhabi and Riyadh. Furthermore, the Prado’s body-on-frame construction provides a level of durability for heavy-duty family use that road-biased crossovers cannot match.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for the 2.4L turbo petrol engine averages approximately 9.4 to 10.6 L/100km, offering a more efficient alternative to traditional V6 engines in Dubai's stop-start traffic. Toyota's authorized service centers are available in every major GCC city, with standard service intervals every 10,000 km keeping maintenance predictable. The Prado historically maintains the lowest depreciation rate in its segment, often retaining up to 85% of its value after three years of ownership in the UAE.

Performance & Capability

The new turbocharged 2.4L engine produces 430 Nm of torque, providing effortless low-end power for highway overtaking and navigating soft sand. With 221 mm of ground clearance and a full-time four-wheel-drive system, it is purpose-built for weekend excursions into the dunes or long cross-border road trips. The 8-speed automatic transmission ensures smooth power delivery, whether towing up to 3,500 kg or cruising at highway speeds across the Emirates.

Comfort & Cabin

The interior features a versatile 7-seat layout with leather-trimmed surfaces, designed to withstand the rigors of family life and high-temperature environments. Powerful rear-seat climate zones with dedicated vents ensure that passengers in all three rows remain comfortable during the peak of summer. The GXR trim further enhances the experience with a large panoramic sunroof and acoustic glass that significantly reduces wind noise during high-speed highway travel.

Safety

Standard safety features on this GXR trim include eight airbags and a suite of active assists such as blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert, which are invaluable on busy multi-lane highways. The vehicle is equipped with advanced stability control and hill-start assist to provide maximum confidence on gravel and sandy surfaces. Adaptive cruise control and lane-departure warnings further reduce driver fatigue during long desert commutes.

The bottom line

This 2025 GXR is the ideal choice for a buyer looking for the latest generation of a global icon without the premium price of the VXR trim. Its combination of zero mileage, GCC specification, and the most popular resale color makes it a secure investment in the current local market.
