Summary

This 2026 BYD Song Plus Premium represents the high-tech future of the GCC family SUV, offering a seamless blend of electric efficiency and petrol reliability. The Premium trim is the most sought-after configuration in the UAE market, featuring all-wheel drive and a significantly more powerful motor than the standard models. Its Silver finish is a top-tier choice for local resale, effectively masking desert dust while maintaining high demand in the used market. For the GCC buyer, this hybrid setup is the perfect solution for the transition to electric, providing silent city commuting and worry-free long-distance travel between Emirates. With its advanced Blade Battery technology and extensive feature list, it stands out as a sophisticated alternative to traditional petrol-only rivals.

This Car vs Other 2026 Song Pluses

As a 2026 model, this vehicle features the latest software updates and refined suspension tuning for a smoother ride on GCC highways. Being brand new, it avoids the typical high mileage seen on regional commuters and benefits from the maximum remaining factory warranty period. The Silver exterior is highly regarded in the UAE for its heat-reflective properties and superior value retention compared to darker tones.

PREMIUM vs Lower Trims

The Premium trim is a substantial step up from the Comfort model, most notably adding the All-Wheel Drive system and nearly 120 extra horsepower for significantly sharper acceleration. Inside, you gain the larger 15.6-inch rotating screen, a premium 10-speaker Infinity audio system, and essential GCC comforts like ventilated front seats. It also adds a high-resolution 360° panoramic camera and a full ADAS safety suite that are often optional or simplified on lower specifications.

Song Plus vs Segment Rivals

When compared to the Toyota RAV4 Hybrid or Honda CR-V, the Song Plus leads with a much larger electric-only range and a more futuristic, screen-heavy interior. While rivals focus on traditional hybrid systems, this plug-in hybrid allows for true petrol-free daily driving in Dubai or Riyadh traffic. Its total combined range of over 1,100 km outclasses almost every petrol SUV in its size category, making it a superior choice for cross-border GCC road trips.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption is remarkably low, averaging approximately 4.5L/100km when utilizing the hybrid system, which is ideal for the stop-start traffic of major GCC cities. Maintenance is simplified through the Al-Futtaim service network in the UAE and growing authorized centers across Saudi Arabia and Kuwait, ensuring parts availability. As BYD gains significant market share in the region, resale values for high-trim hybrid models are showing strong stability, depreciating slower than many European luxury crossovers.

Performance & Capability

The dual-motor all-wheel-drive setup delivers 319 hp, propelling this SUV from 0-100 km/h in just 5.9 seconds—a figure that rivals many dedicated performance sedans. This power is particularly useful for confident overtaking on high-speed highways like the E11 or E311. The intelligent AWD system provides enhanced stability on gravel or wet surfaces, while multiple drive modes allow you to prioritize battery preservation or maximum performance at the touch of a button.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is a sanctuary from the intense GCC summer, equipped with a powerful dual-zone climate control system and dedicated rear vents to keep all five passengers cool. The integrated sports seats are finished in premium synthetic leather and feature both heating and ventilation, a critical feature for the regional climate. An expansive panoramic sunroof adds an airy feel to the interior, while acoustic glass helps maintain a quiet environment even at highway speeds.

Safety

Safety is anchored by the ultra-safe Blade Battery construction and a comprehensive suite of active technologies including Adaptive Cruise Control and Lane Keep Assist for relaxed long-distance driving. Standard features on this Premium trim include Blind Spot Monitoring, which is essential for the fast-paced multi-lane traffic of the GCC, alongside 6 airbags and a 360° camera system for effortless parking in tight urban spaces.

The bottom line

This is the ideal opportunity for a tech-forward family to secure the most powerful, highest-spec version of the region's fastest-growing hybrid SUV without the new-car waiting list.
