Summary

The 2026 ROX 01 VIP enters the market as a high-tech alternative to traditional full-size SUVs, combining rugged aesthetics with a sophisticated Range-Extended Electric Vehicle (REEV) powertrain. As a zero-year-old vehicle, it represents the latest in Chinese automotive innovation, featuring a luxury-focused 6-seat cabin that prioritizes passenger comfort. The Black exterior is a perennially strong choice for resale in the GCC, while the 476 hp output ensures effortless performance on local highways. For buyers in the region, the most important consideration is the REEV system, which provides a pure electric driving feel for daily commutes without the range anxiety typically associated with long cross-country drives.

This Car vs Other 2026 ROX 01s

As a brand-new 2026 model with zero mileage, this ROX 01 offers the maximum possible advantage in terms of battery health and mechanical longevity. In the GCC market, where high annual mileage is common, starting with a zero-km vehicle provides a significant buffer for future resale value. The Black exterior remains one of the most sought-after colors in the UAE and Saudi Arabia, ensuring it will stay in high demand compared to more niche colors.

VIP vs Lower Trims

The VIP trim is the flagship of the ROX 01 lineup, specifically adding the ultra-comfortable 2+2+2 seating configuration with second-row captain chairs. These seats feature advanced ventilation and massage functions, which are essential for maintaining comfort during the extreme GCC summer. While lower trims focus on maximum utility with seven seats, the VIP trim elevates the cabin experience with premium materials and an enhanced focus on rear-passenger amenities.

01 vs Segment Rivals

The ROX 01 competes directly with the Li Auto L8 and L9, standing out with its more rugged, off-road-inspired design reminiscent of a modern Defender. It offers a larger 56 kWh battery than many segment rivals, providing a superior pure-electric range for urban driving. Its 700 mm wading depth and dedicated terrain modes also give it a slight edge for those planning weekend camping trips in the desert compared to more road-biased luxury crossovers.

Running Costs & Resale

The REEV powertrain achieves a combined fuel consumption of approximately 7.95 L/100 km under the WLTC cycle, offering significant savings in GCC stop-start traffic. With a 70-liter fuel tank and large battery, long-distance drives between emirates are possible with minimal fuel stops. While ROX is a newer brand in the region, the use of a 1.5L generator engine produced by Xinchen (a BMW partner) simplifies mechanical maintenance. As a Chinese luxury spec, it offers a high feature-to-price ratio, though long-term depreciation is expected to follow the pattern of other emerging premium NEV brands in the local market.

Performance & Capability

With 476 hp and 740 Nm of torque delivered instantly by its dual electric motors, the ROX 01 accelerates from 0–100 km/h in just 5.5 seconds. This performance is particularly useful for merging onto fast-moving GCC highways or overtaking at speed. The intelligent All-Wheel Drive system includes five terrain modes—Snow, Mud, Rock, Sand, and Wade—and a 700 mm wading depth, making it well-suited for moderate off-road adventures and navigating seasonal heavy rains.

Comfort & Cabin

The interior is dominated by a massive 15.7-inch central touchscreen and a 12.3-inch digital cockpit, powered by a Snapdragon-based infotainment system. The VIP 6-seat layout features ventilated and heated captain chairs in the second row, providing a first-class travel experience for all passengers. Advanced insulation and acoustic glass help keep the cabin quiet and cool, shielding occupants from the intense outside heat and road noise typical of highway-heavy GCC driving.

Safety

Standard safety features on the VIP trim include a comprehensive ADAS suite with adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist, and autonomous emergency braking. A 360° camera with a transparent chassis view is standard, providing essential visibility when navigating tight urban parking or uneven terrain. The vehicle is constructed with a high-strength steel body, providing robust passive protection for all six occupants on high-speed regional roads.

The bottom line

For the tech-forward buyer who wants the size and presence of a rugged SUV without the high fuel costs, this 2026 ROX 01 VIP is a compelling, future-proof opportunity.
