Summary

This 2026 ROX 01 VIP offers a rare opportunity to own a cutting-edge, extended-range hybrid SUV that effectively bridges the gap between rugged off-road capability and high-end executive luxury. As a Chinese-spec model, it arrives with a technology suite that often surpasses its European and Japanese competitors, specifically in the realms of smart driving and cabin digitalization. The black exterior is the most sought-after choice for resale in the UAE and Saudi markets, ensuring the car maintains a strong market value compared to more niche colors. With its hybrid powertrain producing nearly 400 hp, the car is perfectly suited for the long-distance highway commutes common between Dubai and Abu Dhabi, offering significant fuel savings without the range anxiety of a pure EV. The VIP trim is a focused luxury statement, providing a refined environment for those who want a versatile vehicle that feels equally at home at a Burj Khalifa valet as it does on a weekend expedition through the Northern Emirates. For a buyer in the GCC, this represents a unique combination of 2026-model-year technology and the mechanical robustness required for high-temperature operations.

This Car vs Other 2026 ROX 01s

As a 2026 model, this vehicle represents the absolute latest in automotive engineering, having entered the market when most other manufacturers are still catching up to its hybrid efficiency. This specific unit stands out because the mileage is essentially negligible for a car of this year, offering a 'like-new' ownership experience that is hard to find in the used market. In the GCC, where cars are often driven 25,000 km per year on average, securing a 2026 model ensures you are years ahead of the typical maintenance curve. The black exterior is a massive advantage in the regional market; it is widely considered the safest investment for resale value and commands higher demand from executive buyers. Compared to other early-release 01s, the VIP trim level ensures this car is equipped with the maximum hardware available for the platform, meaning there are no hidden upgrades or missing sensors to account for later.

VIP vs Lower Trims

Stepping into the VIP trim elevates the ROX 01 from a capable SUV to a genuine luxury contender in the local market. While lower tiers focus on utility, the VIP adds premium cabin materials and enhanced sound insulation that makes a noticeable difference during the high-speed highway cruising common in the GCC. Specialized features like the advanced 360-degree camera system and the high-fidelity audio setup come standard here, providing the tech-forward experience that modern buyers expect. Ventilated seating is a critical inclusion for this trim, a feature that becomes a daily necessity during the intense summer months where standard seats become uncomfortable quickly. The VIP also benefits from the full suite of intelligent cockpit features, including a more responsive interface and higher-bandwidth connectivity for the navigation and safety systems.

01 vs Segment Rivals

The ROX 01 competes against heavyweights like the Li Auto L9 and the Tank 500, yet it carves out a niche with its unique blend of off-road geometry and electric-first driving dynamics. While many rivals in the hybrid SUV space focus purely on city comfort, this model features a chassis and drivetrain designed for genuine capability, giving it an edge for weekend adventurers who frequent the dunes. Its 399 hp output is delivered with the instant torque of an electric motor, providing better low-end pull for overtaking on the E11 than many of its traditional V6 competitors. The extended range capability means that unlike pure electric rivals, the 01 can comfortably handle a round trip from Dubai to Muscat without requiring several hours of charging stops. Furthermore, the dual-purpose nature of the cabin—offering both rugged durability and executive refinement—gives it a broader appeal than the more specialized off-roaders like the Wrangler or more delicate luxury crossovers.

Running Costs & Resale

Running costs for the ROX 01 are exceptionally low due to its hybrid architecture, which allows for pure electric driving during stop-start city traffic in Dubai or Riyadh. In real-world GCC conditions, the fuel consumption is significantly lower than that of a traditional 4-cylinder or V6 SUV, especially on the highway where the range-extender operates at peak efficiency. While the Chinese spec means buyers should work with specialized service centers in the UAE, the availability of parts for this brand is growing rapidly as demand for intelligent Chinese SUVs climbs. Service intervals are typically scheduled every 10,000 to 15,000 km, with simple oil changes for the generator engine being the primary requirement. Depreciation is currently stabilized by the high demand for high-tech hybrids; in the local market, these vehicles are holding their value better than high-displacement petrol SUVs as fuel efficiency becomes a bigger priority for modern families. Expect high value retention over the first three years of ownership, particularly given the black exterior and VIP status.

Performance & Capability

With 399 hp at your disposal, this SUV delivers performance that belies its size, reaching highway speeds with remarkable smoothness. The four-wheel-drive system is sophisticated, managing power between the wheels to ensure maximum traction on both sun-slicked asphalt and loose desert sand. Performance is tuned for the GCC's long-distance driving culture, focusing on stability at 120 km/h and effortless overtaking capability. The vehicle offers multiple drive modes that allow the driver to prioritize battery conservation for city use or maximum power for challenging terrain. Ground clearance is generous, making it suitable for light dune bashing and navigating rocky wadi paths, while the automatic transmission handles the transitions between power sources seamlessly. This is a powertrain designed for the modern world, balancing the heavy demands of a regional climate with the need for sustainable efficiency.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin of the ROX 01 VIP is a sanctuary designed for the extreme heat of the Arabian Peninsula, featuring a powerful multi-zone climate control system that can cool the interior in minutes. The five-seat layout provides massive amounts of legroom and shoulder room for all occupants, making it an excellent choice for a small family or an executive commuter. VIP-exclusive materials line the touchpoints, and the cabin is exceptionally quiet even at high speeds, thanks to active noise cancellation and acoustic glass. The seating is designed to prevent fatigue on long road trips across the emirates, with ergonomic support that holds up during multi-hour drives. An advanced infotainment system serves as the hub for the car, providing high-definition displays and a user-friendly interface that feels as responsive as the latest premium smartphones. Every detail, from the ambient lighting to the placement of the USB-C ports, has been considered to maximize the comfort of a high-tech lifestyle.

Safety

Safety is a top priority for this 2026 model, featuring one of the most advanced ADAS suites currently available on the market. The system includes adaptive cruise control, which is incredibly useful for the long stretches of highway between cities, and blind-spot monitoring that is essential for the fast-paced multi-lane traffic of Middle Eastern roads. The vehicle is built on a high-strength chassis designed to exceed modern crash test standards, providing peace of mind for family buyers. Emergency braking and lane-keeping assistance provide an extra layer of protection, acting as a second set of eyes during evening drives when visibility can be affected by dust or low light. The 360-degree camera system is not just a luxury; it is a critical safety tool for maneuvering a large SUV in tight urban parking spaces, ensuring you have clear vision all around the vehicle at all times.

The bottom line

This 2026 ROX 01 VIP is the ideal choice for a tech-forward buyer who wants the fuel efficiency of a hybrid without sacrificing the rugged capability and status of a large black SUV. It represents the best value in the current market for those seeking 2026-level features and executive comfort at a price point that undercuts traditional luxury rivals.
