Summary

This 2026 ROX 01 VIP offers a compelling blend of rugged capability and cutting-edge hybrid efficiency, perfectly suited for the UAE's high-speed highways and weekend desert escapes. With the VIP trim's six-seat configuration and premium aviation-style captain's chairs, it provides a significantly more luxurious second-row experience than the standard seven-seat models. Its dual-motor hybrid system delivers a massive 740 Nm of torque, ensuring effortless overtaking on the E11 while maintaining impressive fuel economy for a vehicle of this size. For the GCC buyer, the range-extender technology is the primary draw, eliminating EV range anxiety on long drives to Salalah or Riyadh while allowing for zero-emission city commuting in Dubai or Abu Dhabi. The Chinese-spec software and hardware are highly advanced, though buyers should ensure they are comfortable with the local service support for this emerging luxury brand.

This Car vs Other 2026 ROX 01s

As a 2026 model, this ROX 01 is practically new and represents the latest iteration of the brand's 'Adamas' series refinement. In the GCC market, where annual mileage often averages 25,000 km, this vehicle's lack of significant road time is a major advantage for both mechanical longevity and future resale value. The black exterior is a perennial favorite in the region, offering the strongest resale potential compared to niche colors, especially when paired with the high-demand 6-seater VIP layout.

VIP vs Lower Trims

The VIP trim is the flagship of the ROX 01 lineup, distinguished by its 2+2+2 seating configuration featuring second-row aviation-grade captain's chairs with ventilation, heating, and massage functions. Unlike lower trims that focus on utility with a bench seat, the VIP adds a 15.6-inch rear entertainment screen and upgraded interior materials such as Nappa leather and real wood accents. It also includes the full ADAS suite and DCC adaptive damping as standard, features that are often optional or simplified on base models.

01 vs Segment Rivals

The ROX 01 primarily competes with the Li Auto L8 and L9, as well as established icons like the Land Rover Defender. While it mirrors the Defender’s boxy, Pininfarina-designed aesthetic, it leads the segment with a specialized 'ROX' off-road system including 5 dedicated terrain modes and a 700 mm wading depth. Its 70-liter fuel tank is specifically sized to handle long-distance regional travel, providing a total range that exceeds most pure battery-electric rivals in the luxury SUV class.

Running Costs & Resale

The ROX 01 achieves a real-world combined fuel consumption of approximately 7.95L/100km, which is exceptionally efficient for a 2.7-ton SUV, particularly in GCC stop-start traffic where the electric motors handle the heavy lifting. Authorized service coverage is expanding rapidly across the UAE with a major regional parts hub now operational in Jebel Ali to support next-day fulfillment. While depreciation for new Chinese luxury brands can be steeper than Japanese equivalents, the high demand for long-range hybrids in the UAE market helps bolster 3-year value retention.

Performance & Capability

The dual-motor intelligent AWD system generates a combined 469 hp and 740 Nm of torque, propelling the vehicle to 100 km/h in just 5.5 seconds—performance that rivals many sports sedans. For off-road enthusiasts, the 205 mm ground clearance and 5 dedicated ROX terrain modes (Snow, Rock, Mud, Sand, Wade) make it highly capable for weekend dune bashing or gravel trails. The all-aluminum double-wishbone front suspension and H-arm multi-link rear provide a stable, 'gliding' ride quality on the highway even at the 190 km/h top speed.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is optimized for the harsh GCC climate, featuring multi-zone climate control with dedicated rear vents and ventilated seats in both the front and second rows. The VIP layout's aviation seats offer zero-gravity positioning, perfect for long road trips across the emirates. Triple-layered acoustic glass and a large panoramic sunroof with heat-insulating coatings ensure the interior remains a quiet, cool sanctuary even when summer temperatures exceed 45°C.

Safety

Standard safety equipment on the VIP trim is comprehensive, featuring a 5-star C-NCAP design with a high-strength body capable of resisting 134kN of roof pressure. The full ADAS suite includes 360-degree high-definition cameras, adaptive cruise control, and blind-spot monitoring, which are essential for navigating fast-moving multi-lane highways like Sheikh Zayed Road. It also features a 3D transparent chassis view, allowing drivers to see obstacles directly beneath the vehicle when navigating technical off-road terrain.

The bottom line

This 2026 ROX 01 VIP is the ideal choice for a tech-forward family in the UAE looking for the luxury and performance of a modern EV without sacrificing the long-distance freedom of a hybrid.
