Suzuki Jimny GL

Highlights

• 210 mm minimum ground clearance
• Low-range transfer case with locking differentials
• Strong value retention in the GCC used market

Summary

This Suzuki Jimny represents a unique opportunity to own a virtually new, five-door variant of the world’s most recognizable compact off-roader. While the three-door model is an icon, this extended wheelbase version offers the rear doors and legroom necessary for small families or those needing easier access to gear for desert weekend trips. As a 2026 model, it benefits from the latest production refinements and Suzuki's legendary reliability in high-temperature environments. In the GCC, white remains the most sensible choice for heat reflection and commands the highest resale interest when it’s time to upgrade. Whether you're navigating the tight urban streets of Dubai or the dunes of the Empty Quarter, this Jimny provides a mechanical purity that few modern SUVs can match.

This Car vs Other 2026 Jimnys

With minimal delivery mileage, this Jimny stands out as a fresh alternative to the waiting lists often found at authorized distributors. Its white exterior is a strategic choice for the GCC, offering the best possible thermal management and ensuring the vehicle remains a liquid asset in the secondary market. Compared to standard-length models, the five-door configuration significantly improves highway stability on long stretches between Emirates.

GL vs Lower Trims

The GL trim serves as the essential gateway to serious off-roading, providing the same mechanical 4WD hardware and ladder-frame chassis as the higher GLX without the fragile tech that some purists avoid. It includes essential GCC comforts like electric windows and central locking while maintaining a rugged, easy-to-clean interior. While it skips the larger touchscreen of the GLX, it retains the vital rearview camera and parking sensors that make daily urban use effortless.

Jimny vs Segment Rivals

The Jimny occupies a class of its own, outclassing rivals like the Lada Niva in terms of AC performance and regional parts support. While larger SUVs like the Jeep Wrangler offer more power, the Jimny’s lighter footprint allows it to float over soft sand that causes heavier vehicles to sink. Its tight 5.7m turning circle makes it far more practical for city commuting in Riyadh or Doha than any traditional body-on-frame competitor.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption typically settles around 7.2L/100km, providing an economical alternative to the thirsty V6 and V8 engines common in the GCC SUV market. Suzuki’s authorized service network is extensive across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Oman, ensuring low-cost maintenance and readily available parts. The Jimny historically maintains one of the highest residual value percentages in the region, often retaining over 85% of its value after three years.

Performance & Capability

Equipped with a 210 mm ground clearance and a dedicated low-range transfer case, this Jimny is a genuine mountain climber in a compact package. The ALLGRIP PRO system allows for seamless switching between 2WD for highway efficiency and 4WD for challenging terrain. Its 36-degree approach angle ensures it can tackle steep wadi entries and desert dunes without damaging the front fascia, a capability rarely found in modern crossovers.

Comfort & Cabin

The five-door layout transforms the Jimny into a genuinely usable five-seater, featuring significantly improved rear legroom and easier entry for passengers. The air conditioning system is specifically engineered to handle extreme summer heat, providing rapid cabin cooling even after being parked in direct sun. The interior is designed with durable, scratch-resistant materials that handle sand and dust with ease, making it perfect for an active outdoor lifestyle.

Safety

Safety is managed through a suite of essential active systems including ABS, Hill Hold Control, and Electronic Stability Programme (ESP) to maintain traction on loose gravel and sand. The vehicle is equipped with dual front airbags and a reinforced ladder frame that provides a protective shell for occupants. Rear parking sensors and a rearview camera are standard, providing vital visibility in the fast-paced traffic environments of the GCC.

The bottom line

Perfect for the urban adventurer who needs the practicality of five doors without sacrificing the hardcore off-road capability that made the Jimny a legend. This 2026 model in high-resale white is a smart, low-depreciation entry into the world of GCC desert driving.
