• 210 mm ground clearance
• Extensive GCC authorised service network

Summary

This 2026 Suzuki Jimny GLX 5-door is a prime example of one of the GCC's most resilient vehicles in terms of resale value. As a brand-new model, it offers the ultimate peace of mind for buyers looking to avoid the typical depreciation curve of modern SUVs. The GLX trim is the most desirable specification in the region, providing essential cabin upgrades like the larger 9-inch screen and LED lighting that base models lack. While compact, the 5-door configuration makes it a genuinely usable daily driver for urban commuting in Dubai or Riyadh while remaining a beast in the dunes. For a GCC buyer, this is the safest bet for a vehicle that serves as both a lifestyle icon and a rugged weekend explorer.

This Car vs Other 2026 Jimnys

Being a 2026 model, this vehicle represents the absolute latest iteration of the iconic nameplate with zero wear and tear. In the GCC market, where 4x4s are often subjected to harsh desert conditions, starting with a new vehicle ensures the ladder-frame chassis and transfer case are in factory condition. The GLX trim is the preferred choice for local resale compared to the base GL, ensuring higher demand when it eventually returns to the used market.

GLX vs Lower Trims

The GLX trim adds critical features that GCC buyers prioritize, most notably the upgraded LED projector headlamps for superior visibility during night-time desert drives. Inside, it steps up from the base model with a larger 9-inch touchscreen featuring wireless smartphone integration and automatic climate control to handle extreme summer heat. Crucially, the GLX also includes six airbags and a 360-degree camera system, providing a significant safety and convenience boost over the two-airbag base trim.

Jimny vs Segment Rivals

Compared to road-biased crossovers like the Nissan Kicks or Kia Seltos, the Jimny stands alone with its authentic body-on-frame construction and heavy-duty 4WD system. While rivals offer more on-road refinement, they cannot match the Jimny's 210 mm ground clearance and short overhangs for technical off-roading. It occupies a unique niche in the GCC, offering Jeep Wrangler-levels of character and capability with significantly lower purchase and maintenance costs.

Running Costs & Resale

The Jimny is famous for having one of the lowest depreciation rates in the GCC, often retaining over 90% of its value after three years. The 1.5L engine is remarkably fuel-efficient for a 4x4, averaging approximately 6.9 L/100km on the highway, making it an affordable choice for cross-emirate commutes. Service intervals are typically every 10,000 km, and with Suzuki's massive authorized network across the UAE and Saudi Arabia, parts and expert maintenance are always within reach.

Performance & Capability

The Jimny’s 210 mm ground clearance and AllGrip Pro system with a dedicated low-range transfer case allow it to tackle terrain that would stop larger luxury SUVs. The 1.5-liter engine is tuned for low-end torque, essential for crawling through soft sand or navigating rocky wadis. While not designed for high-speed highway sprints, its lightweight body and 4x4 hardware make it one of the most agile and fun vehicles to drive in the UAE's diverse landscapes.

Comfort & Cabin

The 5-door layout provides significantly improved access to the rear seats and a more usable 211-liter boot space compared to the 3-door variant. The GLX cabin is tailored for GCC comfort with a powerful air conditioning system and a leather-wrapped steering wheel that houses controls for the cruise control and audio. Fabric upholstery is a smart choice for the local climate, as it remains cooler than leather during peak summer months.

Safety

This GLX trim comes equipped with a comprehensive safety suite including six airbags, electronic stability control, and ISOFIX child seat anchors. For GCC highway driving, the inclusion of hill-hold assist and hill-descent control provides extra confidence on steep grades, while the 360-degree camera makes parking the boxy SUV in tight urban spaces effortless. The rugged ladder-frame construction further adds a layer of physical durability expected of a true off-roader.

The bottom line

This 2026 Jimny GLX is the perfect acquisition for the enthusiast who wants a legendary 4x4 that doubles as a practical 5-door daily, all while holding its value better than almost anything else on the road.
