• Extensive GCC authorised service network
• Strong value retention in the GCC used market

Summary

This 2026 Toyota Hiace GL represents the benchmark for group transport in the GCC, offering a superior balance of passenger comfort and commercial-grade durability. Powered by the proven 3.5L V6 engine, it provides the necessary grunt for full-load highway travel between emirates while maintaining the reliability Toyota is famous for. The GL trim is a significant step up from the base Commuter models, featuring a more refined interior that is better suited for premium hospitality or executive staff transport. In the local market, the white exterior and GCC specification ensure this vehicle remains a highly liquid asset with one of the slowest depreciation curves in the segment. For any fleet operator or business, this is the safest and most efficient investment for long-term passenger logistics.

This Car vs Other 2026 Toyota Hiaces

As a brand-new 2026 model, this Hiace offers the latest safety calibrations and interior refinements of the H300 generation. Compared to the average commercial vehicle in the UAE which often covers 30,000 km annually, this zero-mileage example provides a full lifecycle of service. The white exterior is the optimal choice for the GCC, reflecting heat efficiently and commanding the highest resale demand.

GL vs Lower Trims

The GL trim elevates the Hiace from a basic utility van to a passenger-focused bus by adding essential comfort features like higher-quality fabric upholstery and chrome exterior accents. Unlike the base DX or standard Commuter trims, the GL includes a more advanced multi-zone air conditioning system with dedicated roof-mounted vents for every row. You also benefit from an upgraded 8-inch infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and a rear-view camera, which are frequently requested by professional drivers in the region.

Hiace vs Segment Rivals

The Toyota Hiace leads the Nissan Urvan and Hyundai H1 primarily through its superior parts availability and authorized service footprint across the entire GCC, including remote areas of Saudi Arabia and Oman. Its 3.5L V6 engine offers significantly more overtaking confidence on fast-moving UAE highways compared to the smaller-displacement engines found in many European rivals. The resale value for a GCC-spec Hiace consistently outperforms its competitors, often retaining 15-20% more value over a three-year period.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for the 3.5L V6 typically averages around 10.5L/100km, which is competitive for a vehicle of this size and seating capacity. Maintenance is straightforward with a massive network of Al Futtaim and other regional distributors providing 10,000 km service intervals. In the GCC, the Hiace is considered 'gold' in terms of liquidity; it experiences the lowest annual depreciation in its class, often losing less than 10% per year if maintained at authorized centers.

Performance & Capability

The 277 hp V6 engine is paired with a smooth 6-speed automatic transmission, delivering a top speed of 160 km/h and steady torque for heavy-load situations. With a ground clearance of approximately 185 mm, it handles the speed humps and uneven terrain of construction or industrial zones without issue. The rear-wheel-drive configuration ensures better traction and balance when the bus is at its full 9+ passenger capacity.

Comfort & Cabin

The high-roof design provides excellent headroom, making the cabin feel airy even when every seat is occupied. Critical for the GCC summer, the powerful air conditioning system is engineered to cool the large interior volume rapidly, supported by independent registers for the rear passengers. Acoustic insulation in the GL trim is noticeably better than in cargo variants, providing a quieter environment for long-distance travel between Abu Dhabi and Dubai.

Safety

This Hiace GL comes equipped with a comprehensive safety suite including Vehicle Stability Control (VSC), Traction Control (TRC), and ABS with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution. The inclusion of front airbags and a dedicated rear-view camera provides essential protection and visibility in congested urban traffic. Seatbelts for all passengers and a reinforced body structure ensure it meets the stringent safety requirements for commercial transport licensing across the GCC.

The bottom line

This 2026 Hiace GL is the ideal choice for a business seeking the region's most reliable high-capacity transport with the best possible resale protection.
