Summary

This 2026 Toyota Hilux GR Sport represents the pinnacle of the world’s most trusted pickup, blending legendary durability with Gazoo Racing performance enhancements. In the GCC market, this specific 4.0L V6 petrol variant is the most sought-after configuration due to its mechanical simplicity and smooth power delivery compared to diesel alternatives. As a zero-mileage 2026 model, it offers the maximum possible lifespan and full technological currency for a buyer in the UAE or wider region. The black exterior provides a bold, aggressive look that complements the GR Sport’s widened stance and unique styling. For any GCC owner, the unmatched reliability of the 1GR-FE engine and the vast local service network make this the safest long-term automotive investment in the segment.

This Car vs Other 2026 Hiluxes

As a brand-new 2026 model with zero kilometres, this Hilux sits at the very top of the used market value curve, offering the full benefit of a fresh manufacturer lifecycle. While many Hiluxes in the GCC are high-mileage workhorses, this GR Sport is a pristine example suitable for both lifestyle use and serious utility. The black color is a classic, high-liquidity choice in the regional market, ensuring it remains desirable at resale.

GR SPORT vs Lower Trims

The GR Sport trim significantly elevates the Hilux experience with a 360-degree camera system and an 8-inch navigation screen that are absent on base work trims. Inside, it adds premium GR-branded leather seats and a sporty interior theme tailored for the GCC’s luxury-leaning pickup buyers. Mechanically, this trim benefits from a tuned suspension and a wide-body design that provides better stability and presence than the standard SR or GLX models.

Hilux vs Segment Rivals

Compared to the Ford Ranger or Mitsubishi L200, the Hilux leads with the largest authorized service network in the GCC, ensuring parts are available in every corner of the region. Its naturally aspirated 4.0L V6 offers a linear power delivery that turbo-four rivals struggle to match, particularly in the high-heat conditions of a Saudi or UAE summer. The massive 80-litre fuel tank also provides superior range for long-distance desert expeditions or cross-border drives.

Running Costs & Resale

The 4.0L V6 engine is famous for its longevity, often exceeding 400,000 km with basic maintenance, which drives the Hilux's legendary 8-10% annual depreciation rate—among the lowest in the GCC. Fuel consumption averages approximately 12.0L/100km in combined GCC driving, and the petrol V6 avoids the complex DPF filters found in modern diesels that can struggle with local fuel variations. Service intervals are typically every 5,000 km for severe conditions or 10,000 km for normal use, supported by Toyota's extensive regional network.

Performance & Capability

The 235 hp V6 engine provides effortless highway overtaking and the torque necessary for navigating soft sand dunes. Equipped with a selectable 4WD system and a rear differential lock, this truck is hardware-ready for the most demanding off-road terrain in the Emirates or Oman. It maintains a robust 3,500 kg braked towing capacity, making it as capable for hauling heavy trailers as it is for weekend desert camping.

Comfort & Cabin

The double-cab layout comfortably seats five, with the GR-specific leather upholstery offering a more premium feel than standard utility fabrics. The climate control system is engineered for extreme heat, featuring powerful air conditioning that quickly cools the cabin even after hours in the direct sun. Technological convenience is handled by the 8-inch touchscreen featuring Apple CarPlay, ensuring seamless connectivity for long commutes between Abu Dhabi and Dubai.

Safety

This Hilux is equipped with a comprehensive safety suite including Vehicle Stability Control (VSC), Hill-start Assist Control (HAC), and Trailer Sway Control (TSC) for secure towing. The 360-degree camera system is particularly valuable in tight urban parking or when navigating rocky off-road paths where visibility is limited. It also features a robust airbag system, including a driver’s knee airbag, providing top-tier protection standard on this high-grade trim.

The bottom line

This 2026 Hilux GR Sport is the definitive choice for a GCC buyer who demands a performance-styled pickup with the bulletproof reliability of a naturally aspirated V6. It is a rare opportunity to own a top-spec, zero-kilometre legend that will hold its value better than almost any other vehicle on the road.
