Summary

The 2026 Toyota Veloz GX is the ultimate practical choice for GCC families who need a seven-seater that doesn't feel oversized in city traffic. This specific GX trim is highly desirable in the region for its blend of modern tech—like the 8-inch touchscreen and wireless charging—and Toyota's legendary reliability. Finished in a resale-strong Grey, it offers a sophisticated look while hiding the desert dust better than darker tones. With its impressive ground clearance and class-leading fuel efficiency, it serves as a smart alternative to larger SUVs for daily commutes between emirates. For a buyer looking for long-term peace of mind and low running costs, this GCC-spec crossover is arguably the most sensible investment in the segment.

This Car vs Other 2026 Toyota Velozs

With zero kilometers on the clock, this 2026 model represents the absolute fresh start for a new owner in the GCC market. Its Grey exterior is a strategic choice for the region, offering a higher resale premium than niche colors while maintaining a modern, urban aesthetic. Compared to other listings, the GX trim provides the highest level of factory equipment, ensuring you won't need to look for aftermarket upgrades.

GX vs Lower Trims

The GX trim stands apart by adding premium touches that GCC buyers value, including 17-inch alloy wheels and a leather-wrapped steering wheel. Inside, it upgrades the experience with a 7-inch digital multi-information display, wireless smartphone charging, and ambient lighting that elevates the cabin feel. Crucially for our climate, the GX features automatic climate control and dedicated rear cooling vents that are essential for passenger comfort during peak summer months.

Veloz vs Segment Rivals

When compared to the Mitsubishi Xpander or Suzuki Ertiga, the Veloz leads with a more sophisticated tech suite and superior maneuverability thanks to its tight 4.9-meter turning radius. Its ground clearance of 205 mm gives it a significant advantage when navigating high speed bumps or unpaved parking areas common across the GCC. Furthermore, Toyota's inclusion of an electronic parking brake with auto-hold makes it much more comfortable in the stop-start traffic of Dubai or Riyadh.

Running Costs & Resale

Running costs are among the lowest in the 7-seater segment, with a manufacturer-claimed fuel economy of 19.3 km/L that thrives in both city traffic and steady highway cruising. Being a GCC-spec Toyota, it benefits from the most extensive authorized service network in the region, with centers readily available from Abu Dhabi to Muscat. Historically, the Veloz holds its value exceptionally well, typically retaining 60-70% of its original price after three years, significantly outperforming Chinese-made rivals in the same category.

Performance & Capability

The 1.5-litre engine is tuned for efficiency and smooth delivery through a 7-speed CVT, making it perfectly suited for the daily school run or inter-city highway drives. While not designed for dune bashing, its front-wheel-drive platform and 205 mm ground clearance provide ample capability for gravel tracks and weekend family road trips. Selectable drive modes, including an 'Eco' and 'Power' setting, allow you to prioritize fuel savings or extra responsiveness for highway overtaking.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is a masterclass in space management, offering a 'sofa mode' where the seats can be configured into a flat bed-like surface for resting during long trips. The GX trim ensures every passenger stays cool with a powerful air conditioning system and dedicated vents for the second and third rows. High-quality fabric and leather-accented seats provide a durable yet comfortable environment that stands up well to the intense GCC heat without becoming uncomfortably hot to the touch.

Safety

Safety is a headline feature for the GX, which comes standard with six airbags (front, side, and curtain) providing comprehensive protection for all three rows. It includes essential active systems for GCC highways, such as Vehicle Stability Control (VSC), Traction Control, and a Tire Pressure Monitoring System. The inclusion of a rear-view camera and parking sensors as standard makes navigating tight urban spaces safe and effortless.

The bottom line

This 2026 Toyota Veloz GX is the perfect match for a growing GCC family that prioritizes fuel economy, urban maneuverability, and the unmatched resale security of the Toyota badge.
