• Seven seats with all-wheel drive
• Extensive GCC authorised service network

Summary

The 2027 Kia Sorento EX FOP represents a highly refined choice for families, balancing a powerful V6 engine with the versatility of seven seats. In the GCC market, its white exterior is a top-tier choice for resale value, while the All-Wheel Drive system provides confidence during highway drives and weekend outings. This model year continues to lead the segment by offering a more substantial powertrain than many rivals that have moved to smaller four-cylinder units. For the regional buyer, the combination of Kia’s proven reliability and a comprehensive regional service network makes this a low-risk, high-reward investment for long-term ownership.

This Car vs Other 2027 Sorentos

With mileage for 2027 models being virtually non-existent, this vehicle represents a fresh entry into the market. Its white paint is the most sought-after color in the GCC, ensuring it stays cooler in the summer and retains its value better than darker shades. Compared to standard GCC spec annual averages of 25,000 km, this car offers the full lifespan of its mechanical components to the next owner.

EX FOP vs Lower Trims

The EX FOP trim bridges the gap between everyday utility and luxury by adding features GCC buyers prioritize, such as the Smart Power Liftgate and upgraded interior finishes. It replaces the standard 2.5-liter engine with the more robust 3.5-liter V6, providing the necessary power for full-passenger highway overtaking. Additionally, this trim often includes enhanced driver assistance systems that are frequently optional on lower levels.

Sorento vs Segment Rivals

The Sorento is often cross-shopped with the Toyota Highlander and Hyundai Santa Fe. It stands out by maintaining a 3.5-liter V6 engine in a segment where many competitors are downsizing to turbocharged four-cylinders, offering smoother power delivery for long desert highway hauls. Its cabin technology and digital displays typically offer a more intuitive user experience than its Japanese rivals.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for the 3.5L V6 typically averages around 10.5 L/100km, which is competitive for a seven-seater in GCC stop-start traffic. Authorized service centers are widely available across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and the wider region, with standard intervals occurring every 10,000 km. Kia has seen a significant improvement in value retention in the GCC, often depreciating at a slower rate than European equivalents over the first three years.

Performance & Capability

The 272 hp V6 engine provides a top speed of approximately 210 km/h, ensuring effortless cruising on 140 km/h motorways. The All-Wheel Drive system is tuned for road stability, but it provides enough traction for gravel paths and sandy approaches to beach spots common in the Emirates. With 331 Nm of torque, it handles a full load of seven passengers without the engine strain felt in smaller-displacement SUVs.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is designed for the harsh GCC climate, featuring a high-output air conditioning system with dedicated vents for the second and third rows. With seven seats, the interior is highly configurable, allowing the third row to fold flat for a massive 813 liters of boot space when not in use. High-quality insulation helps keep the cabin quiet and shielded from the midday heat during long cross-border drives.

Safety

Standard safety equipment on the EX FOP includes a comprehensive airbag system and the Kia Drive Wise suite, featuring Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist and Rear Cross-Traffic Alert. These systems are particularly valuable on multi-lane highways in Dubai or Riyadh, where fast-moving traffic is the norm. The car also features ISOFIX child seat anchors in the second row, making it a safe choice for growing families.

The bottom line

This 2027 Sorento is the ideal match for a family looking for a nearly new, V6-powered SUV with the highest resale potential in the GCC market. It offers a premium feel and verified regional suitability that makes it a standout opportunity today.
