Summary

This 2027 Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG represents the latest iteration of the iconic G-Class, now enhanced with a 48V mild-hybrid system that adds instant response to its 585 hp output. As a European-spec model, it offers the high level of interior refinement expected by performance enthusiasts, while its classic Obsidian Black exterior remains the strongest choice for value retention in the GCC. The G63 stands alone in the SUV segment by pairing authentic military-grade off-road hardware—including three independent locking differentials—with a cabin that rivals the flagship S-Class for luxury. For the GCC buyer, the addition of the new 'Off-Road Cockpit' and transparent hood technology makes navigating both dunes and tight urban parking significantly easier. This is a rare opportunity to own a current-model-year legend that has become the definitive status symbol of the region.

This Car vs Other 2027 G63 AMGs

As a 2027 model year, this vehicle benefits from the most recent technical updates, including the refined MBUX infotainment system and enhanced active safety suites. While European-spec cars may not carry the same local agency warranty as GCC-spec units, they often feature unique Manufaktur interior combinations and high-spec lighting systems. The black-on-black aesthetic is the gold standard for resale in Dubai and Riyadh, ensuring this car remains a highly liquid asset in the secondary market.

STANDARD vs Lower Trims

The G63 AMG is a significant leap over the G500, replacing the inline-six engine with a handcrafted 4.0L V8 and adding the AMG-specific Panamericana grille and side-exit exhaust pipes. Inside, this trim upgrades to Nappa leather as standard, alongside the Burmester® 3D Surround Sound system and the AMG Performance steering wheel. It also features the AMG Ride Control suspension, which uses adaptive damping to manage body roll—a critical feature for maintaining stability at highway speeds.

G63 AMG vs Segment Rivals

While the Lamborghini Urus and Range Rover SVR offer high-speed road performance, the G63 is the only rival that retains a body-on-frame construction and a dedicated low-range transfer case for true desert capability. It offers significantly more vertical headroom than the Urus, making it a more practical choice for tall drivers in the GCC. Furthermore, the G63’s iconic boxy silhouette ensures it depreciates much slower than its more aerodynamically styled competitors.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for the mild-hybrid V8 averages around 14.7 L/100km, though stop-start traffic in cities like Dubai can push this higher. The G63 has one of the strongest resale profiles in the UAE, typically retaining a high percentage of its value over the first three years due to consistent demand. Authorized Mercedes-Benz service centers are widely available across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait, with service intervals recommended every 15,000 km or 12 months.

Performance & Capability

With 585 hp and 850 Nm of torque, the G63 reaches a top speed of 220 km/h, delivering effortless overtaking power on long desert highways. Its three sequential locking differentials allow it to tackle soft sand and steep inclines that would stop most luxury crossovers. The 9G-TRONIC transmission has been tuned by AMG for rapid downshifts, ensuring the V8 is always in its power band for immediate acceleration.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is designed for the extreme GCC climate, featuring multi-zone climate control and ventilated front seats that provide immediate relief during summer months. The dual 12.3-inch digital displays offer a high-contrast view even in direct sunlight, and the 64-color ambient lighting allows you to customize the interior mood. Despite its rugged exterior, acoustic glass and extensive insulation keep the cabin remarkably quiet during high-speed cruising between emirates.

Safety

This model comes standard with a comprehensive safety suite including Active Lane Keeping Assist, Blind Spot Assist, and a 360° camera system. For the GCC, the 'Transparent Hood' feature is particularly useful, providing a virtual view of the ground immediately in front of the vehicle to avoid hidden obstacles in sand or high curbs in the city. The vehicle is also equipped with a reinforced frame and a sophisticated stability control system specifically calibrated for high-center-of-gravity maneuvers.

The bottom line

For the buyer who demands a vehicle that is equally at home at a Burj Khalifa valet as it is on a weekend desert excursion, this 2027 G63 AMG is the ultimate choice. It offers the perfect blend of updated hybrid technology, iconic styling, and the best resale security in the luxury SUV market.
