2017 Acura NSX could receive a Roadster model

Acura has been busy recently. From testing their rear wheel drive GT3 race car to announcing a track inspired version of their upcoming sports car. That was all last month, and that’s far too long not to hear about the successor to the early 90’s classic of the same name.

Recent reports further confirm that there won’t just be two models as the chassis allows for a convertible body type instead of a coupe.

The other body type to join the lineup is more of a trim level and an extreme one as that, as the 2017 Acura NSX could wear a Type R badge and correct body parts. Additionally, this model could pump out extra horsepower on top of the 550 horses already being exerted by the 3.5-litre petrol engine paired to two electric motors to power all four wheels.

Acura or Honda have not set anything in stone just yet. However, they have said that if there is enough demand for the additional models to be built, they will put them into production. That is if only customers actually want to buy them which of course the answer is a big fat YES!

With an expected launch date of later this year, standard 2017 Acura NSX models hold a price tag of AED 633,800 overseas. GCC spec models will most likely bear a Honda Badge instead of Acura as the latter is not officially sold in the region.
