2020 Defender arrives in UAE

Just like the Nissan Patrol and Toyota Land Cruiser, the Land Rover Defender is a favourite in the UAE. With its tough can-do attitude and ability to go anywhere, the 2020 Defender is one of the most anticipated vehicles in recent times.

Al Tayer Motors has officially taken delivery of the first batch of vehicles in the Middle East.

Staff at Al Tayer are in the process of preparing vehicles for customers who have already put an order in for the all-new 2020 Defender.

Since the ’50s, the Defender has been a comment sight in the UAE and surrounding GCC countries. The vehicle quickly built up a reputation for traversing harsh terrain and could reach corners of the desert that were once thought impossible to traverse.

The 2020 Defender has been a hot topic since Land Rover announced they would cease production of the Defender line up, only for them to do a complete 180 and restart production of the icon in 2019.

The latest incarnation of the iconic SUV features an all-new “rounded” shape. While still retaining some sort of boxy nature, the added curves bring the 2020 Defender into the 21st century. Some love it, and some hate it.

To ensure the latest model would fit right in and be a worthy successor, with the aid of all-terrain experts from the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies.

In the UAE, customers have several trim levels to choose from; S, SE, HSE, First Edition and X. Door arrangements are either two or four.

Additionally, there are accessory packs to make your Defender more unique and adapt the vehicle for any terrain. These include Adventure, Country, Explorer and Urban.

Customers in the UAE have two choices of engines to choose from; 2-litre petrol engine or a 3.0-litre MHEV.

Al Tayer Motors is expecting a second delivery later this year.

Prices in the UAE start at AED 208,950 for the 110 and AED 225,015 for the 90.

Dubicars hasn’t got any 2020 Defender models, but you can find new Defender and used Defender for sale in Dubai and Abu Dhabi.
