ROX Cars Production Starts In UAE: ADAMAS First Model To Roll Out Of Production Line

ROX Motors has officially started vehicle production in the UAE after completing its Advanced AI Manufacturing Centre in Abu Dhabi. The first three ROX ADAMAS SUVs have already rolled off the production line carrying the “Made in the Emirates” mark.

The move marks an important step in ROX’s localisation plans and adds another global automotive brand to the UAE’s growing vehicle manufacturing sector.

ROX Advanced AI Manufacturing Centre In Abu Dhabi

The new facility is located within Khalifa Economic Zones Abu Dhabi (KEZAD) and covers around 10,000 square metres.

The facility can locally sub-assemble more than 80 types of vehicle components. It also handles complete vehicle assembly, calibration, rain testing, road testing and final inspection before vehicles are delivered.

Production is expected to reach an initial capacity of around 20,000 vehicles in 2027. ROX plans to expand this significantly over the coming years, targeting an annual production capacity of 300,000 vehicles by 2030.

Vehicles built in Abu Dhabi will serve the UAE market while also supporting exports to regional and international markets.

The project forms part of ROX’s wider partnership with the Abu Dhabi Investment Office (ADIO) and is supported by the UAE Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology. It also aligns with the country’s Make it in the Emirates initiative and Operation 300Bn industrial strategy.

ROX ADAMAS Is The First UAE-Produced Model

The ROX ADAMAS is the first model to enter production at the Abu Dhabi facility. The large luxury SUV uses an extended-range electric powertrain. Its dual-motor four-wheel-drive system produces 350kW, or around 469hp, and 740Nm of torque. It can accelerate from 0-100km/h in 5.5 seconds.

A 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine works as a range extender, while a 56.01kWh battery provides up to 235km of WLTC electric range. Combined WLTC driving range is rated at 1,226km.

The ADAMAS is available with six- and seven-seat layouts, placing it in the UAE’s growing segment of large electrified luxury SUVs.

More Than Just Local Vehicle Production

ROX’s Abu Dhabi expansion goes beyond manufacturing. The company has also established an AI LAB and Design Studio in the emirate as it develops local capabilities in engineering, artificial intelligence, design, and research and development.

The AI LAB will work on the ROX AGENT AI platform, while the Design Studio will bring together designers from the UAE, China and other markets.

ROX is also planning its first UAE-designed vehicle. The ROX ADAMAS Abu Dhabi Edition is scheduled to be revealed in March 2027 and will feature influences inspired by Emirati culture.

The project is being developed with the Design Commission – Abu Dhabi and Al Khaznah Leathers. Its design will take inspiration from Khoos, the traditional Emirati craft of weaving palm fronds.

UAE-Built ROX ADAMAS Heading To Africa

Two vehicles from the first batch of UAE-produced ADAMAS SUVs will also take part in the second season of the ROX GRAND TOUR. The journey will take the SUVs across several African countries before finishing in Casablanca, Morocco. Both vehicles will carry the “Made in the Emirates” mark throughout the trip.

What Does ROX Production Mean For The UAE?

ROX starting production in Abu Dhabi is another major development for the UAE automotive industry. The country is increasingly attracting carmakers and automotive technology companies looking to establish manufacturing, design and research operations in the region.

For ROX, Abu Dhabi is becoming more than a sales market. With local production now underway, a Design Studio and AI LAB established, and a UAE-designed ADAMAS arriving in 2027, the emirate is becoming an important part of the brand’s global expansion plans.
