Denza B5 & B8 Launched In The UAE: Luxury Chinese Car Brand Denza Debuts

There’s a new name in the UAE’s luxury SUV scene, Denza. Born from BYD’s electric genius and Mercedes-Benz’s design DNA, Denza has finally made its official debut in the Emirates under Al-Futtaim Electric Mobility Company. This launch marks not just two new cars, but the beginning of a premium hybrid era for UAE drivers who want both eco and ego in one drive.

The brand kicks off its regional journey with two plug-in hybrid SUVs, the Denza B5 and the Denza B8. Both come armed with futuristic tech, a remarkable hybrid range, and interiors that make you forget you’re in a car that still drinks a bit of petrol.

Denza’s pricing strategy aims to undercut German and Japanese luxury rivals while delivering equal, if not better, features.

Exterior Design

The B5 blends toughness and sophistication. A sleek closed grille up front and a sharp LED light bar give it that electric-vehicle look. The floating roof design and flush door handles add aerodynamic flair, while its wide stance shouts confidence. It’s not just designed for Dubai boulevards, its 34° approach angle and 180 mm ground clearance make it desert-ready too.

Interior Look and Feel

Inside, the B5 feels like a calm Scandinavian lounge. You get premium leather upholstery, a panoramic sunroof, and heated and ventilated front seats. The layout is minimalist yet elegant, with clever storage and soft-touch surfaces throughout. The onboard refrigerator and heated steering wheel are nice touches for the UAE’s long summers.

Engine and Transmission

Power comes from a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine combined with dual electric motors, producing up to 425 hp and 760 Nm of torque. A 31.8 kWh BYD Blade LFP battery gives around 80–100 km of pure electric range and more than 780 km total range (WLTP). Acceleration? 0–100 km/h in 4.8 seconds, quick enough to make a Cayenne driver glance twice.

The B8 is all about luxury in layers. Available in six- or seven-seat configurations, the second row offers captain’s chairs with independent controls, ventilation, and massage functions. Under the bonnet sits a 2.0-litre turbo petrol engine paired with dual electric motors, generating 603 hp and 760 Nm of torque. The larger 36.9 kWh Blade LFP battery maintains a 100 km EV range and a total range of 825 km (WLTP). It also enables 115–120 kW DC fast charging. Despite its size, the B8 sprints from 0–100 km/h in just 4.8 seconds, sports car territory.

Denza’s UAE lineup is only just beginning. Coming soon are the Denza N9, a triple-motor luxury SUV with 912 hp and drone-assisted parking; the Denza N8L, a mid-tier hybrid SUV priced around AED 146,000; and the Denza D9, a luxury plug-in hybrid MPV already available in limited numbers.
