Jetour T8: All You Need To Know About The New Flagship SUV

Jetour is rapidly expanding its rugged SUV range, and the Jetour T8 is shaping up to become one of its most important new models. First shown at the 2026 Beijing Auto Show, the large SUV will sit above the T1 and T2 and is also known as the Jetour Traveller 8 in China.

The T8 combines a large boxy body, electrified power, three-row practicality and a new generation of off-road technology. Jetour describes it as its flagship off-road travel SUV, while production and sales are expected to begin in 2027.

What Is The Jetour T8?

The T8 is the new flagship of Jetour’s Traveller family. It is larger and more premium than the T2, while targeting buyers who need more passenger space without moving to the more serious body-on-frame G700.

Its positioning also explains why the T8 focuses heavily on family travel. The SUV is expected to offer a three-row cabin, while overseas specifications could include a seven-seat configuration.

That makes it significantly larger than the current T2, which measures 4,795mm long and has a 2,800mm wheelbase in its Chinese-market specification.

What Is Inside The Jetour T8?

The cabin displayed around the T8 programme follows Jetour’s rugged-luxury approach rather than a purely utilitarian off-road theme.

Features shown or associated with the vehicle include:

What Engine Will The Jetour T8 Use?

Two powertrain directions have been linked to the T8. A 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol version is expected alongside an electrified model using Jetour and Chery’s C-DM plug-in hybrid technology. Show information has linked the PHEV to a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine working with the hybrid system.

However, Jetour has not yet confirmed final power, torque, battery capacity or acceleration figures for the production T8. That is important because several different output figures have appeared online since the Beijing reveal. Until Jetour releases the final technical sheet, treat these as preliminary.

What Is The Jetour T8’s Electric Range?

This is one area where Jetour has already revealed an ambitious target. The Traveller 8 is claimed to offer more than 300km of pure-electric driving range under the Chinese CLTC cycle, while its combined petrol-electric range is expected to exceed 1,300km.

The CLTC figure is generally more optimistic than real-world driving or WLTP testing, so international-market range figures could be lower. Even so, a large battery and long combined range would make the T8 particularly suitable for commuters who can charge regularly while retaining petrol power for longer road trips.

How Capable Will The Jetour T8 Be Off-Road?

Off-road technology is one of the T8’s biggest talking points. Jetour has confirmed a new-generation XWD intelligent all-wheel-drive system together with an AI all-terrain recognition system. The technology can identify different driving surfaces and adjust vehicle settings accordingly.

Jetour has also announced features including:

• AI all-terrain intelligent control
• Off-road Conquest Mode
• Intelligent off-road one-pedal driving
• Automatic intelligent four-wheel drive

Current information points towards the Traveller 8 launching in China during the first half of 2027. More details are expected before launch, including the final dimensions, battery capacity, engine outputs, seating layouts and pricing.

Will The Jetour T8 Launch In The UAE?

A UAE launch has not yet been officially confirmed. However, there is a strong reason to watch the model closely. Jetour UAE and Elite Group Holding attended Auto China 2026 and specifically highlighted the T8 alongside the F700 and TX as part of Jetour’s future SUV direction.

Jetour’s UAE range already includes the T1, T1 i-DM, T2, T2 i-DM and G700, making the market a natural fit for another large adventure-focused SUV. If the T8 does arrive here, its combination of a spacious cabin, long-range PHEV system, all-wheel drive and outdoor-focused technology could make it particularly well suited to UAE buyers.
