New Omoda C5 — Top Things To Know | Price, Specs, Variants

Chinese car brand, Omoda has arrived in the UAE and has brought its first model, the C5 SUV. After its first appearance at the GIMS Qatar auto show, the new Omoda C5 is here to take on other compact SUVs sold in the country.

Omoda Brand

Omoda is part of the Chery International automotive group. The new brand aims to offer sporty and affordable SUVs packed with tech and performance. Alongside, gasoline-powered vehicles, Omoda will soon be launching their electric SUV, the C5 EV a.k.a E5 in the UAE.

Expected Omoda C5 Variants

The Omoda C5 is expected to be offered in five or more trim levels when launched in the UAE. The C5 sold in South Africa is offered in five trim levels. We expect a similar offering in the country.

Single & Dual Tone Colour Options

Omoda could offer up to 8 monotone colours and 3 three dual-tone colour options with the C5 in the UAE.

Front Grille

A Diamond inspires the front grille of the Omoda C5. The studded design adds a premium touch to this sporty compact SUV.

Floating Roof Design Feature

The blacked-out rear pillar gives a wrap-around effect. The steeply-raked windscreen gives the C5 a coupe-like look and a floating roof effect that adds to the sporty design of the SUV.

Compact SUV

With a wheelbase of 2,630mm, the Omoda C5 has ample space for five people on the inside. Additionally, the SUV features a boot space of 378 litres.

Dual 10.25-inch Displays

The new Omoda C5’s dashboard features dual 10.25-inch screens for the infotainment and the instrument cluster. The infotainment supports onboard navigation, Android Auto and Apple Car Play, and connected features. It also uses the brand’s 4.0 Human Machine Interface (HMI).

Level 2+ ADAS Active Safety System

The new C5 feature the Level 2+ ADAS safety system that helps avoid crashes. This includes forward emergency braking, Blind Spot Warning, and Intelligent Cruise Control; among others.

Turbo-Petrol Engine Options

The Omoda will offer the C5 with two turbo-petrol engine options: 1.5-litre & 1.6-litre. Here are the engine-wise specs:

Expected Price

The Omoda C5 when launched in the UAE could be priced starting at AED 90,000 for the base-spec model. While the top-spec trim with the 1.6L engine option could be priced at AED 100,000.
