Summary

This 2006 Dodge Charger SXT is a standout example of the first modern-era Charger, combining American muscle aesthetics with the practicality of a four-door sedan. Having covered 116,200 km, this vehicle has been driven significantly less than the typical GCC annual average for its age, making it a rare find for enthusiasts or value-focused buyers. The silver exterior is one of the most resilient colors for the local climate and remains a strong choice for future resale value in the UAE market. Equipped with the SXT Top trim, it bridges the gap between everyday commuting and weekend performance, offering a High Output V6 that delivers smooth highway overtaking. For anyone seeking the presence of a muscle car without the fuel overhead of a V8, this GCC-spec sedan provides the ideal balance.

This Car vs Other 2006 Chargers

With just 116,200 km on the odometer, this Charger has averaged roughly 6,500 km per year, which is exceptionally low compared to the typical 20,000–25,000 km annual average seen in the GCC. The silver paint is particularly advantageous in this region as it effectively hides light desert dust and reflects heat better than darker alternatives. Finding a GCC-spec 2006 model with this mileage and a functional factory sunroof is a distinct advantage for local buyers.

SXT TOP SUN ROOF NAV DVD vs Lower Trims

The SXT Top trim significantly upgrades the ownership experience over the base SE, replacing the smaller 2.7L engine with a more capable 3.5L High Output V6. This specific trim adds high-value features for the GCC market, including a power sunroof and a factory-integrated entertainment system with Navigation and DVD capability. These additions were premium options at launch and remain highly sought after in the used market for family road trips and daily comfort.

Charger vs Segment Rivals

In the large sedan segment, the Charger competes directly with the Toyota Avalon and Chevrolet Lumina, offering a much more aggressive, rear-wheel-drive performance character than the front-wheel-drive Avalon. While the Avalon focuses on soft comfort, the Charger provides a 68-litre fuel tank and a long 3,048 mm wheelbase, ensuring superior stability during high-speed drives between emirates. Its 460-litre boot capacity also outclasses many rivals, making it more practical for large families.

Running Costs & Resale

The 3.5L V6 is well-regarded for its durability in high-heat environments, typically requiring service intervals every 10,000 km at authorized centers across the UAE and Saudi Arabia. Real-world fuel consumption averages around 10.2 L/100km, which is efficient for a full-size American sedan in GCC highway conditions. As a GCC-spec vehicle, it retains value far better than imported American-spec units, benefiting from better parts availability and a cooling system designed for 45°C+ summers.

Performance & Capability

The High Output 3.5L V6 produces a verified 250 hp and 339 Nm of torque, enabling a 0–100 km/h sprint in approximately 8.9 seconds. This powertrain is mated to a smooth 5-speed automatic transmission that is tuned for relaxed highway cruising but responds quickly for overtaking. With a top speed of 208 km/h, the Charger feels planted and confident on the E11 or other major highways across the region.

Comfort & Cabin

Inside, the Charger offers a cavernous cabin with seating for five adults and dedicated rear cooling vents that are essential for the GCC summer. The SXT Top trim includes the premium navigation display and a rear DVD system, providing entertainment for passengers on long cross-border drives. The power sunroof adds an airy feel to the cabin during the cooler months, while the silver exterior helps maintain a lower interior temperature when parked.

Safety

Safety is a priority with a 5-star NHTSA rating for front-impact protection, providing peace of mind for family use. This trim includes standard electronic stability control (ESP) and traction control, which are vital for maintaining grip on sandy or rain-slicked roads. Dual front airbags and anti-lock brakes (ABS) are standard, ensuring a robust safety net for both city and highway driving.

The bottom line

This is a rare opportunity to own a low-mileage, GCC-spec Charger SXT that has been preserved well above the market average. It is the perfect choice for a buyer who wants iconic American styling and modern features without the high running costs of a V8.
