Summary

This 2014 Audi Q5 offers a refined balance of German engineering and everyday practicality, powered by a punchy 6-cylinder engine. With mileage below the typical annual average for the UAE market, it presents a compelling case for buyers seeking longevity. The blue exterior is a sophisticated choice that maintains strong appeal in the secondary market, standing out from the usual sea of white and silver. In a segment often defined by four-cylinder options, this V6 powertrain provides effortless highway overtaking and smooth long-distance cruising. For a GCC owner, the combination of premium cabin materials and a robust air conditioning system makes it a dependable choice for year-round comfort.

This Car vs Other 2014 Q5s

At 134,900 km, this vehicle has been driven approximately 13,500 km per year, which is significantly lower than the GCC average of 20,000 to 25,000 km. This translates to less mechanical wear on the cooling system and suspension, which are critical for UAE conditions. The blue exterior is a distinctive alternative to standard colors and generally retains its luster well under the intense local sun.

STANDARD vs Lower Trims

The 3.0L V6 configuration in this trim represents a significant step up from the base 2.0L four-cylinder, offering 288 hp and vastly superior torque for high-speed highway stability. This specification typically includes upgraded leather seating surfaces and larger alloy wheels that enhance both the aesthetic and the resale value compared to entry-level variants. The enhanced power delivery is particularly noticeable when navigating fast-moving multi-lane traffic in Dubai or Abu Dhabi.

Q5 vs Segment Rivals

The Audi Q5 competes directly with the BMW X3 and Mercedes-Benz GLK, leading the group with its 75-litre fuel tank, which provides a greater range for long-distance drives across the Emirates. Its 540-litre boot space is exceptionally well-packaged, offering more usable volume for family luggage than several more aggressively styled crossover rivals. The interior build quality remains a benchmark for the segment, utilizing materials that resist fading and rattling even after years of use in high-temperature environments.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for the 3.0L V6 averages approximately 8.5 L/100km on combined cycles, though city driving in stop-start traffic may see higher figures. Audi maintains an extensive authorized service network across the UAE and the wider GCC, ensuring that genuine parts and expert technicians are always accessible. While European luxury SUVs experience higher depreciation than Japanese workhorses, the Q5 remains one of the most liquid models in the German segment, typically retaining its value better than the Mercedes GLK of the same era.

Performance & Capability

With a 0–100 km/h time of just 5.9 seconds, this Q5 offers performance that surprises many newer SUVs. The supercharged V6 provides immediate throttle response, making it ideal for merging onto fast highways like E11. While primarily road-biased, its 200mm ground clearance is sufficient for gravel paths and light weekend excursions. The 8-speed automatic transmission is tuned for smoothness, keeping the engine in its optimal power band during long-distance cruises between emirates.

Comfort & Cabin

The five-seat layout is designed with ergonomics in mind, featuring supportive leather seats that remain comfortable even on three-hour drives. Audi's climate control system is highly regarded in the region for its ability to reach target temperatures quickly during peak summer heat. Rear passengers benefit from dedicated air vents and generous headroom, ensuring family comfort on longer road trips. The cabin insulation effectively minimizes road and wind noise, preserving a premium atmosphere at highway speeds.

Safety

This Q5 comes standard with a comprehensive safety suite, including multiple airbags and Electronic Stability Control, which is vital for maintaining traction on sandy or rain-slicked road surfaces. Anti-lock brakes and Electronic Brake-force Distribution provide confident stopping power, while the robust Quattro-inspired chassis design offers high levels of crash protection. These features contributed to the model's strong safety ratings, making it a reliable choice for family-oriented buyers in the GCC.

The bottom line

This is a well-maintained, low-mileage example of Audi's most popular SUV, perfect for a professional or family looking for German prestige without the new-car price tag. Its V6 engine and GCC-spec history make it a safer, more powerful long-term investment than high-mileage four-cylinder alternatives.
