Summary

This Honda Odyssey is the preferred solution for GCC families who prioritize actual three-row utility and ease of access over the compromises of an SUV. In the high-specification Touring trim, it replaces basic family transport with a refined, leather-appointed cabin designed for long-distance comfort between Emirates. With a reliable 3.5-liter V6 and a reputation for enduring extreme summer heat, it offers a predictable and stress-free ownership experience. The combination of white exterior and GCC specification ensures this van remains a highly liquid asset in the local used market. For those managing school runs and weekend road trips, the Odyssey remains the segment benchmark for logistics and safety.

This Car vs Other 2015 Odysseys

At 137,000 km, this Odyssey has averaged roughly 12,500 km per year, which is significantly lower than the typical 20,000–25,000 km annual average seen in the GCC. The White exterior is widely regarded as the most practical choice for the region, reflecting heat efficiently and commanding the strongest resale value. Being a GCC-spec vehicle, it avoids the insurance and part-compatibility hurdles often associated with American imports.

TOURING vs Lower Trims

The Touring trim is a major leap over the EX-L, adding essential family upgrades like the Rear-Seat Entertainment System with integrated screens and the Honda Satellite-Linked Navigation. It also features front and rear parking sensors and driver memory settings, which are rare in lower trims. The inclusion of 18-inch alloy wheels and acoustic windshield glass provides a noticeably quieter and more stable highway drive compared to the base LX or EX models.

Odyssey vs Segment Rivals

While rivals like the Toyota Previa offer reliability, the Odyssey leads with a more powerful 3.5L V6 engine and superior third-row legroom that genuinely accommodates adults. Compared to the Kia Sedona, the Honda holds a stronger historical resale value in the UAE and Saudi markets. Its cargo flexibility, specifically the 846 litres of space even with all eight seats in use, remains unmatched by most crossovers in the same price bracket.

Running Costs & Resale

The 3.5L V6 is designed for efficiency on the highway, benefiting from Variable Cylinder Management (VCM) which shuts down cylinders during steady cruising to save fuel. Honda's extensive authorized service network across the UAE and Oman ensures parts are readily available and affordable. As a GCC-spec Honda, it historically retains approximately 60% of its value over a three-year period, performing better than most European MPVs in the local market.

Performance & Capability

With 250 hp delivered through a smooth 6-speed automatic transmission, the Odyssey handles highway merging and overtaking with surprising confidence for its size. It features a 1,588 kg braked towing capacity, making it capable of hauling small leisure trailers for weekend getaways. The front-wheel-drive setup is tuned for stability, providing a car-like driving experience that feels planted even during typical GCC highway crosswinds.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is engineered for the Gulf climate, featuring a powerful tri-zone automatic climate control system with dedicated rear vents for all passengers. The eight-seat configuration includes a multi-function second-row center seat that can slide forward for easier access to children. High-grade leather upholstery and integrated sunshades for the second and third rows ensure passenger comfort is maintained even during the peak of summer.

Safety

The 2015 Odyssey was a Top Safety Pick, equipped with a comprehensive suite of active safety features including Forward Collision Warning and Lane Departure Warning. Standard electronic stability control and traction control provide essential grip on sandy or rain-slicked road surfaces. The inclusion of side-curtain airbags for all three rows and a multi-angle rearview camera makes it one of the most secure environments for large families in the region.

The bottom line

This is a low-mileage, high-trim GCC example of the region's most trusted family van, offering a better balance of safety and space than any similarly priced SUV.
