Summary

This 2015 Nissan Patrol LE Platinum represents the high-water mark for the Y62 generation, pairing the powerful 400 hp V8 with the most luxurious features available for its year. Finished in Grey—a versatile and resilient color for the GCC climate—this SUV remains a status symbol for both highway presence and desert capability. While the mileage reflects its history as a long-distance regional commuter, the body-on-frame construction and heavy-duty V8 are purpose-built for such endurance. The LE Platinum trim is particularly sought after in the used market for its cabin technology and superior cooling performance. For a GCC buyer, this is a mechanical workhorse that maintains the refinement expected of a flagship SUV.

This Car vs Other 2015 Nissan Patrols

With 316,000 km, this vehicle has been utilized for extensive regional travel, which is typical for flagship SUVs in the GCC where highway-heavy driving is the norm. While this mileage is higher than the average for its year, these powertrains are celebrated for their ability to exceed 400,000 km when properly maintained. The Grey exterior is a neutral, high-demand choice that resists the visible wear of sand and heat better than darker alternatives, supporting its future resale value.

LE Platinum vs Lower Trims

The LE Platinum sits at the top of the range, offering a significant performance jump to 400 hp compared to the 320 hp found in SE trims. Inside, this trim adds executive essentials like ventilated front seats, a premium 13-speaker Bose audio system, and a 360-degree Around View Monitor. Buyers also benefit from the dual-screen rear entertainment system and a cooled center console, features that are often missing or optional on lower-tier specifications.

Patrol vs Segment Rivals

Against rivals like the Toyota Land Cruiser and Chevrolet Tahoe, the Patrol leads with a massive 140-litre fuel tank, providing superior range for cross-border GCC trips. Its Hydraulic Body Motion Control system offers a flatter cornering experience on-road than the Land Cruiser, while its dedicated desert modes provide more technical off-road assistance. The 8-seat configuration is also more accommodating for large families than many European competitors in this luxury bracket.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for the 5.6L V8 typically ranges between 14.5 L/100km on highways and 20 L/100km in stop-start city traffic, necessitating the use of high-octane Super 98 for optimal engine health. Maintenance is simplified by the most extensive authorized service network in the region, with centers readily available across the UAE, KSA, and Oman. The Patrol retains its value exceptionally well, typically depreciating at just 8-10% annually, making it one of the safest financial assets in the used SUV market.

Performance & Capability

The 400 hp V8 engine delivers 560 Nm of torque, allowing this 2.7-ton SUV to reach 100 km/h in approximately 7.3 seconds, ensuring effortless overtaking on fast-moving highways like E11. Its All-Wheel Drive system is paired with a low-range transfer case and a rear differential lock, making it a formidable choice for deep sand driving and weekend desert excursions. The body-on-frame architecture ensures the vehicle remains rigid and durable even under the mechanical stress of extreme summer temperatures and rugged terrain.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is designed for eight passengers, featuring premium leather upholstery and a 4-zone climate control system engineered specifically to handle 45°C+ temperatures. The inclusion of ventilated seats and rear cooling vents ensures all rows remain comfortable during the intense GCC summer. Acoustic glass and high-grade insulation minimize highway wind noise, providing a quiet environment for long-distance family travel between emirates.

Safety

Standard safety equipment on the LE Platinum includes a comprehensive 360-degree camera system, front and rear parking sensors, and a suite of advanced airbags. The vehicle is equipped with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD) and Traction Control, which are vital for maintaining stability on both high-speed paved roads and shifting sand surfaces. This trim also includes adaptive cruise control and blind-spot monitoring, significantly reducing driver fatigue during long desert highway hauls.

The bottom line

Ideal for the GCC buyer seeking a flagship V8 SUV with maximum luxury, this Patrol LE Platinum offers legendary durability and regional support at a price point that reflects its well-traveled history.
