Summary

This Nissan Patrol LE T2 is a quintessential GCC workhorse, combining the prestige of the Y62 generation with the essential 400-horsepower V8 engine. Finished in white, the region's most sought-after resale color, it offers a strong value proposition for buyers who prioritize long-term durability and road presence. With 145,000 km, this vehicle has been driven roughly 20,000 km per year, which is perfectly average for a large SUV in the UAE's highway-centric environment. It stands out from rivals by offering a superior balance of off-road hardware and cabin refinement, making it just as capable in the Liwa dunes as it is on the E11 highway. For a GCC buyer, the primary draw is the massive 140-litre fuel capacity and a service network that ensures parts are available in every corner of the region.

This Car vs Other 2017 Patrols

At 145,000 km, this Patrol aligns with the typical annual usage of 20,000–25,000 km expected in the GCC market for full-size SUVs. The white exterior is the most popular choice in the UAE, ensuring it remains highly liquid and maintains a higher resale value than less common shades. Mechanically, 2017 models are highly regarded as they sit within the post-refresh period of the Y62, benefiting from improved interior ergonomics.

LE T2 vs Lower Trims

The LE T2 trim is a significant upgrade over the XE and SE trims, most notably replacing the 4.0L V6 with the far more capable 5.6L V8 engine. Over the entry-level LE T1, the T2 adds premium essentials like a powered sunroof, remote engine start for pre-cooling the cabin, and a powered tailgate. These features are highly valued by GCC buyers for both summer comfort and daily convenience.

Patrol vs Segment Rivals

While the Toyota Land Cruiser LC200 is its primary rival, the Patrol LE T2 leads with a more modern interior layout and a superior 140-litre fuel tank that extends range during long desert expeditions. Compared to the Chevrolet Tahoe, the Patrol offers a genuine low-range transfer case and superior approach angles, making it a more versatile tool for weekend off-roading. Its hydraulic body motion control system also provides a flatter cornering experience on-road than most competitors.

Running Costs & Resale

The 5.6L V8 typically sees a combined fuel consumption of 14.5 L/100km, though GCC city traffic can push this closer to 18-20 L/100km. Service intervals are generally set at 10,000 km, and Nissan’s extensive network of authorized centers across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Oman makes maintenance straightforward. The Patrol is a top-tier performer in terms of value retention, depreciating slower than European luxury rivals due to its legendary reliability and local cultural status.

Performance & Capability

The 400-horsepower V8 provides 560 Nm of torque, allowing this 2.7-ton SUV to reach 100 km/h in approximately 6.6 to 7.1 seconds—effortless performance for highway overtaking. Its All-Mode 4x4 system features selectable modes for Sand, Snow, and Rock, supported by a rear differential lock for serious terrain. With a ground clearance of 273 mm, it is engineered specifically to handle the steep dunes and rocky wadis found across the Gulf.

Comfort & Cabin

The 8-seat configuration is designed for large families, featuring a high-output air conditioning system with dedicated vents for the second and third rows to combat 45°C+ summer peaks. The LE T2 cabin includes leatherette upholstery and a leather-wrapped steering wheel, providing a premium feel that resists wear better than fabric. Acoustic glass and improved insulation ensure a quiet environment even at 140 km/h highway speeds.

Safety

Standard safety features on the LE T2 include multiple airbags (front, side, and curtain) and a comprehensive suite of active aids like Electronic Stability Control, Hill Start Assist, and Brake Assist. The All-Mode 4x4 system acts as a safety feature by providing superior traction on unpredictable surfaces like shifting sand or rain-slicked tarmac. Cruise control is standard, making the frequent long-distance drives between Emirates significantly less fatiguing.

The bottom line

This Patrol LE T2 is the ideal choice for a family looking for a high-spec V8 workhorse that has already weathered its steepest depreciation. Its GCC-spec pedigree and white-on-beige configuration make it a safe, high-value asset in the current UAE used market.
