Rolls-Royce was established in 1906 by Charles Rolls and Henry Royce after a successful partnership began in 1904. The company quickly gained a reputation for building reliable and high-quality luxury vehicles, with early models like the 1907 Silver Ghost setting benchmarks in engineering. Over the years, Rolls-Royce expanded its influence in the automotive world, earning its moniker as ‘The Best Car in the World’, and underwent several ownership changes, including its acquisition by BMW in 1998, which infused the marque with much-needed technological advances. BMW also contributed with sharper performance dynamics in a traditionally sleepy lineup, and a fresh new brand appeal to younger audiences —all while still maintaining a strict standard of craftsmanship.
The Rolls-Royce Wraith, launched at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show, is a two-door grand tourer built on the Ghost platform, featuring a fastback design and rear-hinged doors. It is powered by a 6.6-liter twin-turbocharged V12 engine producing 624 horsepower and paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission, enabling 0–60 mph acceleration in 4.4 seconds. The Wraith Black Badge variant, introduced in 2016, offers a more performance-focused setup with revised suspension, sharper throttle response, and darker styling elements. As part of Rolls-Royce’s new lineup under BMW, the Wraith emphasizes sportier performance and sleek looks, catering to new generations of future Rolls-Royce owners.
This particular Wraith is a Gulf-spec example, and it is finished in an enticing shade of metallic blue over beige leather. It was delivered in 2015 in Kuwait to its only owner, then shipped to us in the Emirates in early 2025. The car comes with its owner’s manual, toolkit, detailing kit, first-aid kit, warning triangle, and, of course, its iconic Rolls-Royce door umbrellas.
