Summary

This Audi Q5 45 TFSI S-Line offers a compelling blend of supercharged V6 performance and everyday practicality that remains highly sought after in the GCC. While the mileage reflects its active decade on the road, the brown metallic finish is a sophisticated choice that resists the local dust while maintaining a professional appearance. As a top-tier S-Line trim, it provides a significantly more engaged driving experience and premium aesthetic compared to the standard four-cylinder models. For the regional buyer, the combination of a robust cooling system and the renowned quattro all-wheel-drive system ensures confidence during both high-temperature city commutes and long-range highway journeys.

This Car vs Other 2016 Q5s

With 198,000 km over 10 years, this vehicle sits at an average of 19,800 km per year, which is well within the expected usage for a GCC-based SUV. The brown exterior is a distinctive alternative to the common white or silver, offering a premium look that holds its value well among buyers looking for a more executive aesthetic. Choosing the 3.0-litre TFSI variant over the more common 2.0-litre versions ensures a more durable powertrain for high-speed highway cruising between emirates.

45 TFSI S-LINE vs Lower Trims

The 45 TFSI S-Line is defined by its supercharged V6 engine, providing a substantial power leap over the entry-level 2.0T variants. Beyond the engine, the S-Line package adds more aggressive body styling, larger alloy wheels, and a standard panoramic sunroof that was an optional extra on many lower trims. Inside, you benefit from upgraded sport seats and a higher grade of leather upholstery that better withstands the intense GCC summer heat.

Q5 vs Segment Rivals

The Q5 leads rivals like the BMW X3 and Mercedes-Benz GLC with its exceptionally refined interior build quality and the mechanical security of the Torsen-based quattro system. Its 540-litre boot offers superior vertical space for family logistics compared to the more sloped profiles of some competitors. The supercharged V6 provides smoother, more linear power delivery than the turbocharged units often found in this segment, making it ideal for the fast-paced multi-lane highways of Dubai and Riyadh.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for the 3.0 TFSI typically averages 8.5 L/100km on the highway, rising to approximately 11.4 L/100km in stop-start city traffic. Maintenance is straightforward in the region with an extensive network of authorized service centers like Al Nabooda and Ali & Sons across the UAE. As a GCC-spec vehicle with a high-displacement engine, it retains its value significantly better than non-regional imports, appealing to buyers who prioritize long-term mechanical reliability.

Performance & Capability

The heart of this Q5 is the 272 hp supercharged V6, which enables a brisk 0–100 km/h sprint of just 5.9 seconds and a top speed of 234 km/h. The eight-speed Tiptronic automatic transmission provides seamless shifts, while the quattro all-wheel-drive system ensures maximum traction on sandy or rain-slicked surfaces. With 400 Nm of torque available from low RPM, it handles full passenger loads and highway overtaking with ease.

Comfort & Cabin

The five-seat cabin is anchored by a standard panoramic sunroof that creates a sense of openness, while the dual-zone climate control is engineered to reach cabin-wide cooling quickly in 45°C+ temperatures. Rear passengers benefit from dedicated air vents and a 60:40 split-folding seat arrangement that expands the cargo area to 1,560 litres. Acoustic glass insulation keeps the cabin remarkably quiet, shielding occupants from high-speed wind noise and external heat.

Safety

Safety is comprehensive with a full suite of airbags, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), and specialized Brake Assist (BA) for emergency stops. The quattro system acts as a proactive safety feature by constantly redistributing power to the wheels with the most grip, vital for maintaining control during unexpected weather changes or on gravel-strewn desert roads. Standard parking sensors and cruise control further enhance safety during long-distance desert drives and tight city parking.

The bottom line

For the buyer seeking German engineering and V6 power at a competitive entry point, this GCC-spec S-Line Q5 represents a balanced opportunity in today's market.
