Summary

This 2016 Range Rover Vogue SE offers a compelling balance of high-displacement performance and executive luxury, featuring the powerful 510 hp supercharged V8. With 186,000 km, this mileage is consistent with GCC highway use for a ten-year-old vehicle, yet it remains one of the most capable and prestigious SUVs on the road. The black exterior is a premier resale choice in the local market, ensuring strong demand when it’s time to upgrade. Compared to rivals like the LX570 or Patrol, it offers superior on-road refinement and a more sophisticated air suspension system. For a buyer seeking the ultimate status symbol that can handle both city traffic and weekend long-distance drives across the Emirates, this Vogue SE is a standout opportunity.

This Car vs Other 2016 Range Rovers

At 186,000 km, this vehicle sits at an average mileage for a GCC-spec luxury SUV of this age, reflecting typical long-distance commutes between cities like Dubai and Abu Dhabi. While many listings may show lower odometer readings, they often lack the comprehensive maintenance history required for the complex L405 chassis. The black-on-black color combination remains the most sought-after configuration in the UAE, providing a distinct advantage in both aesthetic appeal and future resale value.

VOGUE SE vs Lower Trims

The Vogue SE is a significant step up from the standard Vogue, adding features essential for the GCC climate, such as climate-controlled front and rear seats with cooling functions. It also upgrades the audio experience to the high-fidelity Meridian Surround Sound system and replaces the standard wheels with 21-inch alloys. Buyers also benefit from the 360-degree surround camera system, making parking this large SUV in tight city spaces far more manageable.

Range Rover vs Segment Rivals

While the Lexus LX570 offers legendary reliability, the Range Rover leads the segment in towing capacity (3,500 kg) and pure acceleration, with its 510 hp V8 outperforming the naturally aspirated V8s of its Japanese competitors. It provides a more car-like handling experience thanks to its all-aluminum monocoque construction, which significantly reduces weight compared to the body-on-frame Mercedes G-Class. For those prioritizing cabin quietness and highway stability at 140 km/h, the Range Rover remains the benchmark.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for the 5.0L Supercharged engine typically averages around 12.8 L/100km, though this can increase in heavy Dubai or Riyadh city traffic. The GCC-spec status is a vital value signal here, ensuring the cooling systems and AC are optimized for 45°C+ temperatures and that the vehicle is serviceable at any authorized Land Rover center across the region. While European luxury SUVs experience steeper depreciation than Japanese alternatives, the Vogue SE trim retains value better than the base models due to its higher equipment level.

Performance & Capability

The 510 hp supercharged V8 delivers an effortless 0-100 km/h sprint in just 5.4 seconds, providing sports-car-like overtaking power on the highway. Its advanced Terrain Response 2 system automatically adjusts the air suspension and drivetrain to suit surfaces ranging from asphalt to soft sand, making it a capable companion for desert excursions. With a maximum ground clearance of 295 mm and a wading depth of 900 mm, it is engineered to handle extreme conditions that would stop most luxury crossovers.

Comfort & Cabin

The interior is a sanctuary of semi-aniline leather and wood veneers, designed for maximum comfort during long GCC summer drives. The four-zone climate control ensures all passengers remain cool, while the panoramic sunroof adds an airy feel to the cabin without compromising heat insulation. Double-glazed acoustic glass significantly reduces wind and road noise, allowing the premium Meridian audio system to be enjoyed to its fullest even at highway speeds.

Safety

Standard safety equipment on the Vogue SE includes a comprehensive ADAS suite with Blind Spot Monitoring and Closing Vehicle Sensing, which are particularly useful for fast-moving UAE highway traffic. It also features Adaptive Cruise Control with Queue Assist, Roll Stability Control, and a 360-degree camera system for enhanced situational awareness. The vehicle's all-aluminum structure is designed to provide high levels of occupant protection, earning it top safety marks in international testing.

The bottom line

Perfect for the executive or family who demands the prestige of a Range Rover with the raw power of a supercharged V8, this GCC-spec Vogue SE represents a high-specification entry into the world's most capable luxury SUV.
