Summary

This Range Rover Autobiography represents the top-tier of the L405 generation, combining extreme performance with the highest level of factory refinement. At 10 years old with 136,814 km, the mileage is well within the typical average for the GCC, where highway driving often leads to much higher figures. The Supercharged V8 engine provides effortless power that is particularly appreciated on the high-speed roads between Abu Dhabi and Dubai. In a market that prizes status and capability, the black-on-black color scheme ensures strong resale demand. For the local buyer, this is a chance to own a flagship luxury SUV that handles the UAE's summer heat and desert terrain with equal poise.

This Car vs Other 2016 Range Rovers

With 136,814 km on the odometer, this vehicle sits at a very reasonable mileage for its age in the GCC market, where the annual average is often 20,000–25,000 km. While many 2016 models are reaching much higher mileage, this example has been driven conservatively relative to local norms. The black exterior is a premier resale color in the UAE and wider GCC, consistently holding higher value and wider appeal than niche paint options.

AUTOBIOGRAPHY vs Lower Trims

The Autobiography trim is a significant step above the HSE and Vogue, adding the 825W Meridian Surround Sound System and semi-aniline leather upholstery as standard. It also includes 18-way adjustable massage front seats and a four-zone climate control system, which is essential for maintaining cabin comfort during extreme GCC summers. Additionally, this trim features the Surround Camera System and Blind Spot Monitor, which were often paid options on lower tiers.

Range Rover vs Segment Rivals

The Range Rover leads rivals like the Mercedes-Benz GLS and BMW X5 in off-road capability, offering a 900 mm wading depth and the sophisticated Terrain Response 2 system. Its full-size 105-litre fuel tank provides a superior cruising range for cross-border trips to Oman or Saudi Arabia compared to the smaller tanks found in many sport-biased SUVs. The combination of a high-riding command position and a hand-finished British interior provides a level of prestige that competitors struggle to match in the local market.

Running Costs & Resale

The 5.0-litre Supercharged V8 is engineered for high performance, with real-world fuel consumption averaging approximately 13–15 L/100km on the highway, though this increases in stop-start city traffic in Dubai or Riyadh. Authorized service centers are widely available across the UAE (Al Tayer) and the wider GCC, with recommended service intervals of 13,000 km or 12 months. While European luxury SUVs depreciate faster than Japanese alternatives, the Autobiography trim retains its value best within the Land Rover lineup due to its high original specification.

Performance & Capability

Delivering 510 hp and 625 Nm of torque, this V8 can propel the SUV from 0-100 km/h in approximately 5.4 seconds, ensuring decisive overtaking power on fast-moving motorways. The Four Wheel Drive system features a low-range transfer case and adjustable air suspension, allowing for a maximum ground clearance of 295 mm. Whether navigating sandy weekend tracks or cruising at 140 km/h on the E11, the vehicle remains stable and refined thanks to its adaptive dynamics.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is a sanctuary of Semi-Aniline leather and genuine wood veneers, featuring five seats with multi-zone climate control to ensure every passenger stays cool. Front seats are both heated and ventilated, a critical feature for the GCC climate, while the acoustic glass helps insulate the interior from outside heat and wind noise. The dual-view touchscreen and rear entertainment capabilities make it an ideal choice for families undertaking long drives between Emirates.

Safety

This Autobiography comes equipped with a comprehensive safety suite including Adaptive Cruise Control and Emergency Braking, which are highly beneficial for long desert highway stretches. The 360-degree camera system makes parking in tight urban spaces significantly easier, while the Blind Spot Monitor and Reverse Traffic Detection provide essential protection in fast-moving multi-lane traffic. Standard stability controls are specifically tuned to handle transitions between paved roads and loose sand or gravel surfaces.

The bottom line

This is the ideal choice for an executive or family buyer seeking the ultimate British luxury flagship without the immediate depreciation of a new model. Its well-maintained mileage and top-tier Autobiography specification make it one of the most compelling V8 luxury SUVs currently available in the region.
