Summary

This Rolls Royce Wraith represents a rare opportunity to own a masterfully maintained grand tourer with exceptionally low mileage for its age. In the GCC market, finding a 2016 model with just 47000 km is a significant advantage, as it suggests the vehicle was reserved for special occasions rather than daily commutes. The V12 powertrain is famously robust, making it perfectly suited for the high-speed, long-distance highway driving common between major GCC cities. While many rivals focus on aggressive performance, this specific Wraith prioritizes an effortless 'waftability' that is unmatched in the luxury coupe segment. Given its GCC specification and the prestige associated with the brand in the region, it holds a unique position for buyers who value both status and a refined driving experience. This is a car for the collector or the connoisseur who understands that a well-kept Rolls Royce is more than a vehicle; it is a long-term asset that offers a level of isolation from the outside world that no other manufacturer can replicate.

This Car vs Other 2016 Wraiths

When comparing this vehicle to other 2016 Rolls Royce Wraith examples in the GCC, the primary differentiator is the mileage. At 47000 km, this car has averaged less than 6,000 km per year, which is significantly lower than the GCC average of 20,000 km for premium vehicles. This low usage translates to less wear on the air suspension components and the complex electrical systems that define the Rolls Royce experience. The exterior color, being a specialized hue, adds a level of exclusivity that is highly prized in the UAE and Saudi Arabian markets where individuality is a key part of luxury car ownership. Mechanically, a car with this mileage profile has likely spent its life in climate-controlled environments, preserving the integrity of the leather and wood veneers against the harsh GCC sun. This specific example stands out as a 'collector-grade' specimen compared to higher-mileage alternatives often found in the secondary market.

STANDARD vs Lower Trims

The Rolls Royce Wraith does not follow a traditional trim hierarchy, as even the 'Standard' trim is built to a bespoke standard that exceeds the highest options of most other brands. However, choosing this tier ensures you receive the full 6.6L V12 experience with the specialized Satellite Aided Transmission that uses GPS data to pre-select gears for the terrain ahead—a feature that feels magical on the winding roads of Jebel Hafeet. This trim includes the iconic suicide doors (Coach Doors) with power-closing assistance, a feature GCC owners find particularly convenient when arriving at valet points. Inside, the standard specification includes thick lambswool rugs and the highest grade of Phantom-level leather, which stays remarkably cool and supple even during the peak of the Middle Eastern summer. You are also benefiting from the full suite of interior craftsmanship, including the hand-stitched Spirit of Ecstasy on the headrests and the book-matched wood veneers that are standard at this level.

Wraith vs Segment Rivals

The Rolls Royce Wraith primarily competes with the Bentley Continental GT and the Mercedes-Benz S-Class Coupe, yet it occupies a higher echelon of luxury. While the Bentley offers a more sports-oriented drive, the Wraith leads with its sheer presence and the smoothness of its 12-cylinder engine, which provides a more relaxed journey on long drives from Dubai to Muscat. The Wraith features a larger cabin volume than the S-Class Coupe, ensuring that the two rear passengers enjoy genuine grand-touring comfort rather than cramped quarters. Its cooling system is also arguably the most robust in the segment, designed specifically to maintain a silent, chilled cabin environment even when external temperatures exceed 50°C. For the GCC buyer, the prestige of the Spirit of Ecstasy mascot provides a level of social currency and resale stability that even its most expensive German rivals struggle to match.

Running Costs & Resale

Owning a V12 Rolls Royce in the GCC is a commitment to excellence, and the running costs reflect that. The 6.6L engine is designed to run on high-octane Super 98 fuel, which is readily available across the UAE and the wider region. On the highway, the Wraith is surprisingly efficient for its size, though city driving in heavy Riyadh or Dubai traffic will see higher consumption due to the displacement. Service intervals are typically every 12,000 km or annually, and with authorized service centers in all major GCC capitals, maintaining the vehicle's provenance is straightforward. In terms of resale, Rolls Royce vehicles in the GCC benefit from one of the lowest depreciation rates in the ultra-luxury segment, typically losing value much slower than high-end sports cars. This is particularly true for GCC-spec models like this one, which retain a premium of 15-20% over imported American or European variants due to their regional warranty history and cooling specifications.

Performance & Capability

Performance in a Wraith is described by the brand as 'adequate,' which in reality means a staggering 625 hp and 800 Nm of torque. This power allows the heavy coupe to sprint from 0-100 km/h in just 4.6 seconds, a feat that feels more like a private jet taking off than a car accelerating. The rear-wheel-drive setup is tuned for stability and grace rather than tail-happy antics, making it an ideal partner for high-speed cruising on the E11 highway. The air suspension constantly monitors the road surface, adjusting thousands of times per second to ensure that even the roughest patches of tarmac feel like smooth marble. There are no traditional 'Sport' buttons here; instead, the car uses its intelligence to provide maximum power the moment you bury your foot into the deep-pile carpet. It is a vehicle that offers effortless overtaking capability, allowing you to pass slower traffic with a mere whisper from the engine bay.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin of the Wraith is often described as a sanctuary. With a seating capacity of four, each occupant is treated to a throne-like experience with individual climate zones and seat heating/ventilation that is essential for the GCC climate. The air conditioning system is world-class, capable of dropping the cabin temperature to a crisp chill in minutes, even after the car has been parked in the sun. Acoustic glass and extensive soundproofing ensure that the roar of the city and the whistle of highway wind are completely eliminated. The 'Other' exterior color is complemented by an interior that features hand-polished wood and chrome accents that do not glare under the bright desert sun. For entertainment, the bespoke audio system is tuned specifically for this cabin's dimensions, providing a studio-quality listening experience that remains clear even at high cruising speeds.

Safety

Safety in the Wraith is as much about structural integrity as it is about advanced technology. The car is equipped with an array of sensors and cameras that provide a 360-degree view, making it surprisingly easy to maneuver in tight urban environments like Downtown Dubai. Night Vision technology is a standout feature for GCC drivers, helping to identify hazards or animals on unlit desert roads long before the headlights reach them. The Active Cruise Control is perfect for the long, straight stretches of highway between Emirates, maintaining a safe distance from other vehicles automatically. Additionally, the heads-up display projects vital information directly onto the windshield, allowing the driver to keep their eyes on the road at all times. Multiple airbags and a reinforced steel safety cell provide peace of mind, ensuring that this is one of the safest environments on four wheels.

The bottom line

This GCC-spec 2016 Rolls Royce Wraith is the perfect choice for a sophisticated buyer looking for a low-mileage, high-status grand tourer that has been shielded from the typical heavy use of the region. It offers a unique combination of bespoke luxury and V12 power that makes every journey feel like a special event.
