Summary

This 2018 Range Rover Sport HSE offers a compelling entry point into the premium SUV segment, balancing Land Rover’s prestigious road presence with a versatile 360 hp supercharged V6. While the mileage reflects a vehicle that has been regularly utilized for the typical long-distance commutes common in the GCC, it remains well below the threshold for major mechanical life cycles when properly maintained. The striking red exterior is a rare and bold choice that stands out in a market dominated by neutral tones, appealing to buyers who value individuality alongside the HSE’s significant equipment upgrades. For a GCC buyer, this American-spec listing provides the opportunity to own a high-trim luxury icon at a more accessible price point than local-spec equivalents. It remains one of the few vehicles that can transition seamlessly from an executive arrival to a weekend road trip across the emirates.

This Car vs Other 2018 Range Rover Sports

With 130,000 km on the odometer, this vehicle sits within the expected mileage range for a six-year-old luxury SUV in the GCC, where annual averages frequently hit 20,000–25,000 km. The red exterior provides a distinct visual edge over the common white and black variants, often holding appeal for niche buyers in the secondary market. As an American-spec import, it offers a high-value alternative for those prioritizing initial cost savings while still enjoying the refined HSE interior.

HSE vs Lower Trims

The HSE trim is a significant step up from the base SE, adding essential GCC luxuries such as a fixed panoramic sunroof and perforated leather upholstery. Performance is enhanced with larger 20-inch wheels and front fog lights, while the cabin benefits from an upgraded 11-speaker audio system and 16-way power-adjustable heated front seats. Crucially for regional driving, the HSE includes 360-degree parking sensors and blind-spot monitoring, which are vital for navigating the busy multi-lane highways of Dubai and Riyadh.

Range Rover Sport vs Segment Rivals

The Range Rover Sport leads rivals like the BMW X5 and Mercedes-Benz GLE in sheer off-road heritage, featuring a sophisticated All-Wheel Drive system as standard. Its 105-litre fuel tank is one of the largest in its class, providing superior range for cross-border drives to Oman or Saudi Arabia compared to more road-biased competitors. The interior craftsmanship offers a more traditional sense of British luxury that many buyers find more substantial than the tech-heavy cabins of German alternatives.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for the 3.0L supercharged V6 typically averages around 11–12 L/100km, performing efficiently during steady-state highway cruising between cities. As an American-spec vehicle, it generally commands a lower resale price than GCC-spec units, typically 15–20% less, but offers a much lower entry cost for the buyer. Parts availability is excellent across the UAE and Saudi Arabia due to the model's massive popularity, and authorized service centers are available in every major GCC city.

Performance & Capability

The 360 hp supercharged engine provides a smooth, linear power delivery that allows for confident overtaking at highway speeds. It reaches 100 km/h in approximately 7.2 seconds, a respectable figure for a vehicle of its stature and weight. The air suspension system provides variable ground clearance, ensuring a composed ride over sand-drifted roads or uneven desert tracks during weekend escapes. All-Wheel Drive and an 8-speed automatic transmission work in tandem to manage traction effortlessly across the region's diverse terrains.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is a sanctuary of perforated leather and soft-touch materials, designed to isolate passengers from the intense GCC summer heat. Dual-zone climate control and well-placed rear vents ensure all five passengers remain comfortable during long mid-day journeys. The Touch Pro Duo infotainment system provides a modern, twin-screen interface for navigation and media, while the elevated 'Command' driving position offers a clear view of the road ahead, reducing fatigue on long-haul drives.

Safety

This HSE trim comes equipped with a comprehensive safety suite including six airbags, traction control, and electronic stability programs optimized for loose surfaces like sand and gravel. Advanced driver aids such as blind-spot monitoring and driver condition monitoring provide an extra layer of protection during high-speed highway travel. The 360-degree parking sensors and rear-view camera make maneuvering this large SUV into tight urban parking spots a stress-free experience.

The bottom line

This Range Rover Sport is ideal for the budget-conscious professional who wants the full HSE luxury experience and iconic styling without the premium price of a GCC-spec model. It represents a solid opportunity to secure a high-status SUV that is mechanically ready for the region's demanding driving lifestyle.
