Summary

This 2017 Range Rover Sport HSE Dynamic represents a sophisticated choice for GCC buyers, combining the prestige of the Range Rover brand with the agility of the Sport silhouette. Finished in Fuji White—a top-tier resale color in the region due to its heat-reflective properties—this GCC-spec example has covered a consistent 143,000 km, placing it right at the expected average for a luxury SUV of this vintage in the UAE. The HSE Dynamic trim is particularly desirable as it bridges the gap between the standard V6 and the high-output V8s, offering red brake calipers and gloss black exterior accents that appeal to the local market's preference for sporty aesthetics. For the daily commute between Emirates or weekend trips to the desert, the supercharged V6 provides a perfect balance of highway cruising power and relative efficiency compared to larger engines. Ownership in the GCC is well-supported by an extensive service network, ensuring this iconic SUV remains a reliable companion for years to come.

This Car vs Other 2017 Range Rover Sports

With 143,000 km on the odometer, this vehicle sits at a typical annual average of approximately 20,000 km, which is standard for highway-heavy GCC driving patterns. Unlike many imported American-spec models found in the market, this is a genuine GCC-spec vehicle, ensuring the cooling system and air conditioning are factory-optimized for extreme desert temperatures. The Fuji White exterior is widely considered the strongest resale color in the Middle East, offering a distinct advantage when it comes time to upgrade.

HSE Dynamic vs Lower Trims

The HSE Dynamic trim adds significant value over the standard HSE, most notably featuring the upgraded Terrain Response 2 system which includes an 'Auto' mode that adjusts to GCC sand and gravel surfaces in real-time. Visually, it stands out with 21-inch alloy wheels, red Brembo brake calipers, and a more aggressive body-colored sills and bumper treatment. Inside, you benefit from upgraded perforated leather and a more advanced infotainment interface that was introduced for the 2017 model year update.

Range Rover Sport vs Segment Rivals

When compared to the BMW X5 and Porsche Cayenne, the Range Rover Sport leads with a massive 105-litre fuel tank, providing significantly more range for long cross-border drives across the GCC. It offers superior off-road hardware, including a twin-speed transfer box with low-range gearing that its road-biased German rivals often lack. Additionally, the Command Driving Position provides better visibility in heavy Dubai or Riyadh traffic than lower-slung competitors.

Running Costs & Resale

The 3.0L supercharged V6 delivers a real-world combined fuel consumption of approximately 10.7 L/100km, making it more practical for city commuting than the V8 variants. Land Rover's authorized service centers are widely available across all major GCC cities, with recommended service intervals typically every 12,000 km or 12 months. While European luxury SUVs experience higher depreciation than Japanese alternatives, the HSE Dynamic trim retains its value better than base models due to its high equipment level and GCC-specific cooling package.

Performance & Capability

The 340 hp supercharged engine enables a top speed of 210 km/h, ensuring effortless overtaking on the E11 highway. The advanced All Wheel Drive system is paired with a maximum ground clearance of 278 mm when the air suspension is fully raised, allowing it to navigate sandy wadis or desert tracks with ease. Its 3,500 kg braked towing capacity also makes it one of the most capable vehicles in its class for hauling boats or trailers.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is designed as a sanctuary from the GCC heat, featuring a high-capacity climate control system with dedicated rear vents to keep all five passengers cool during peak summer. This 2017 facelift model includes the improved Touch Pro infotainment system and premium Meridian audio as standard for an immersive driving experience. The 784-litre boot provides ample space for family staycation luggage or golf sets, while acoustic glass ensures a quiet environment even at high highway speeds.

Safety

Standard safety equipment on the HSE Dynamic includes an advanced suite of airbags, Electronic Traction Control, and Cornering Brake Control, which are vital for maintaining stability on sandy road shoulders. This model year features Lane Departure Warning and Autonomous Emergency Braking as standard, providing extra security during fast-paced metropolitan driving. The robust all-aluminum monocoque construction provides a rigid safety cell that earned high marks in global crash testing.

The bottom line

This GCC-spec HSE Dynamic is the ideal opportunity for a buyer seeking the ultimate blend of Range Rover prestige and supercharged V6 practicality in the region's most resale-friendly color.
