Summary

This 2018 Lexus LX 570 in the flagship Platinum Signature trim is the definitive luxury workhorse for the GCC, balancing elite refinement with legendary durability. While the mileage reflects consistent highway use, these naturally aspirated 5.7L V8 engines are widely regarded as 500,000 km powerplants when maintained, making this a reliable long-term asset. The white exterior remains the most sought-after color in the region, ensuring maximum resale liquidity and reflecting heat effectively during intense summers. For a buyer seeking a three-row flagship that conquers both the E11 highway and desert dunes with equal composure, this GCC-spec example is a standout choice.

This Car vs Other 2018 LX 570s

At 180,000 km, this vehicle has been driven roughly 22,500 km per year, which aligns perfectly with the typical GCC annual average for large SUVs. Unlike many high-mileage imports, this GCC-spec unit is purpose-built for the regional climate with enhanced cooling systems. The white exterior is a strategic advantage in the local market, consistently holding a higher resale value than darker alternatives.

PLATINUM SIGNATURE vs Lower Trims

The Platinum Signature trim elevates the LX 570 with a unique signature grille and 21-inch forged alloy wheels that command presence. Inside, it adds the 19-speaker Mark Levinson Reference surround sound system and a dual-screen rear entertainment setup, features that are highly prized by families in the Emirates and Saudi Arabia. It also upgrades the cabin with semi-aniline leather and adds ventilated seating for both the front and second-row passengers.

LX 570 vs Segment Rivals

Compared to the Cadillac Escalade or Range Rover, the LX 570 leads in long-term reliability and off-road hardware, featuring a dedicated low-range transfer case that its road-biased rivals lack. Its Torsen limited-slip center differential and hydraulic height control provide a level of desert capability that is unmatched in the luxury segment. Furthermore, the extensive Lexus service network across all seven Emirates and the wider GCC offers ownership peace of mind that European competitors cannot replicate.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for the 5.7L V8 typically averages around 15.8L/100km, which is expected for a vehicle of this mass and capability. Maintenance is straightforward with 10,000 km service intervals, and parts are readily available at authorized centers throughout the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait. Historically, the LX 570 maintains one of the lowest depreciation rates in the GCC, often retaining significantly more value after three years than its German counterparts.

Performance & Capability

The 381 hp V8 engine delivers a 0-100 km/h time of approximately 7.5 seconds, providing effortless overtaking power on fast-moving UAE highways. With a braked towing capacity of 3,175 kg, it is perfectly suited for hauling boats or trailers to the coast. The adjustable air suspension provides up to 225 mm of ground clearance, allowing you to transition from high-speed cruising to technical off-roading at the touch of a button.

Comfort & Cabin

This eight-seater configuration features power-sliding second-row seats and a power-folding third row, offering versatile logistics for large families. The four-zone climate control system is engineered specifically for 45C+ temperatures, ensuring rapid cabin cooling even after the car has been parked in the sun. Acoustic glass and extensive sound dampening keep the interior whisper-quiet, providing a sanctuary of calm during long cross-border drives.

Safety

The standard Lexus Safety System+ includes All-Speed Dynamic Radar Cruise Control and Lane Departure Alert, which are essential for maintaining safety on long desert highway stretches. Blind Spot Monitoring and a 360-degree Panoramic View Monitor provide critical assistance when navigating tight city parking or merging onto multi-lane highways. Ten airbags come standard, ensuring comprehensive protection for all three rows of passengers.

The bottom line

This Platinum Signature LX 570 is the ideal choice for a GCC family that refuses to choose between executive luxury and genuine desert capability. It represents a secure investment in a vehicle known for outlasting almost every other SUV in the regional market.
