Summary

This 2019 Ferrari Portofino represents a compelling entry into the Prancing Horse family, offering a perfect balance between grand touring comfort and supercar performance. With 49,500 km on the clock, this 7-year-old example has been driven approximately 7,000 km annually, which is remarkably low compared to the typical 20,000 km per year seen in the GCC market. The black exterior is a perennial favorite in the region, ensuring strong resale liquidity and a timeless presence on the road. As the successor to the California T, the Portofino delivers significant improvements in chassis stiffness and aerodynamic efficiency, making it a superior choice for the high-speed demands of the Emirates. For the GCC buyer, the retractable hardtop offers the best of both worlds: a secure, heat-insulated coupe for the summer months and a glamorous spider for the winter driving season.

This Car vs Other 2019 Portofinos

While many sports cars in the UAE serve as high-mileage daily drivers, this example sits well below the regional average for a 7-year-old vehicle. Its black exterior is one of the top three resale colors in the GCC, offering a safer investment compared to niche or loud paint to sample options. Finding a well-maintained launch-era Portofino with this specific mileage profile is a distinct advantage for a buyer looking for mechanical longevity.

STANDARD vs Lower Trims

The Portofino is offered in a single, highly customizable trim that significantly elevates the standard equipment list over the preceding California T. Key features include the 10.2-inch HD touchscreen and the redesigned climate control system specifically engineered to maintain cabin temperatures more effectively in open-top GCC conditions. This example includes the essential passenger-side performance display, a highly sought-after feature in the local used market.

Portofino vs Segment Rivals

The Portofino leads its segment by offering a genuine dual-purpose character that rivals like the Aston Martin DB11 Volante or Bentley Continental GTC struggle to match. Its retractable hardtop provides superior acoustic and thermal insulation against the GCC heat compared to the fabric roofs found on competitors. Furthermore, the Ferrari-developed E-Diff 3 and F1-Trac systems offer a level of mid-corner precision that heavy grand tourers simply cannot replicate.

Running Costs & Resale

Fuel consumption is rated at approximately 11.7 L/100km on a combined cycle, though GCC highway cruising can be more efficient. The car benefits from Ferrari's established authorized service network across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait, ensuring parts and expert technicians are always accessible. Historically, the Portofino maintains a stable depreciation curve in the GCC, typically retaining more value at the 5-year mark than comparable British or German luxury convertibles.

Performance & Capability

The heart of this machine is the award-winning 3.9-litre twin-turbo V8 producing 600 cv, capable of reaching 100 km/h in just 3.5 seconds. The Variable Boost Management system adjusts torque delivery across the gears, providing a linear surge of power that is perfect for overtaking on the E11 or E311 highways. With a top speed of 320 km/h and carbon-ceramic brakes as standard, the Portofino offers performance credentials that command respect at any track day or weekend drive.

Comfort & Cabin

The 2+2 seating layout features 18-way electrically adjustable seats designed with a new backrest shape to increase rear legroom. Ferrari has optimized the cabin airflow with a new wind deflector that reduces interior turbulence by 30% when the roof is down, a critical feature for enjoying the cooler GCC evenings. The interior is a blend of fine Italian leather and high-tech digital displays, ensuring a premium environment for long-distance emirate-to-emirate trips.

Safety

Safety is paramount with standard carbon-ceramic rotors providing immense stopping power and fade resistance, even in extreme summer temperatures. The F1-derived traction and stability control systems are specifically tuned to handle the high-torque output on varied surfaces, from dusty coastal roads to pristine highway tarmac. Side-impact airbags and a reinforced A-pillar structure provide peace of mind in this versatile hardtop convertible.

The bottom line

This low-mileage GCC-spec Portofino is the ideal acquisition for the enthusiast who demands Ferrari soul with the practicality of a daily-usable grand tourer. It represents a rare opportunity to own a modern V8 icon in the most desirable resale configuration currently available in the market.
