Highlights

• 0–100 km/h in 3.5 seconds
• 600 hp from a 3.9L twin-turbo V8
• Top speed of 320 km/h

Summary

This 2019 Ferrari Portofino represents a balanced opportunity in the GCC market, offering exceptionally low mileage for its age at just 20,000 km—well below the typical 100,000+ km seen for this model year. Its black exterior is one of the most resilient colors for resale in the region, ensuring it remains a liquid asset. As a Japanese spec, it provides a high-quality build and a clean history, though buyers should ensure it has been kept in a climate-controlled environment to preserve the interior. This model perfectly bridges the gap between a daily-drivable grand tourer and a high-performance supercar, featuring a hardtop that retracts in 14 seconds to handle the UAE's seasonal shifts.

This Car vs Other 2019 Portofinos

With only 20,000 km on the odometer, this Portofino has been driven significantly less than the 20,000–25,000 km annual average common for UAE vehicles. While most 2019 models have likely seen more frequent highway use between Emirates, this low-mileage example offers a fresher mechanical state. The black-on-black color scheme is a major advantage for local resale, consistently outperforming niche colors in the secondary market.

STANDARD vs Lower Trims

As the base model of its generation, the Portofino comes standard with a carbon-ceramic braking system and a 10.2-inch infotainment display, features that are often optional on rivals. This trim specifically adds the retractable hardtop as a core feature, providing better heat insulation and cabin quietness compared to soft-top competitors. It also includes the E-Diff3 electronic differential, ensuring maximum traction on diverse GCC road surfaces.

Portofino vs Segment Rivals

Compared to the Aston Martin DB11 Volante or the Bentley Continental GT, the Portofino is significantly lighter, leading to sharper handling on routes like the Jebel Hafeet mountain road. Its 80-litre fuel tank provides a respectable range for long-distance cruising between Dubai and Muscat. While rivals focus on weight and presence, the Ferrari offers a more visceral driving experience and better parking maneuverability in dense city traffic.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption averages around 10.7 L/100km on highways, though GCC stop-start traffic will see higher figures. As a Japanese spec, it may not be covered by the local dealer's 7-year maintenance program unless a separate service contract is purchased, but authorized service centers like Al Tayer and independent specialists are widely available across the UAE. The Portofino holds value better than its predecessor, the California T, with a depreciation rate of approximately 12–15% annually in the local market.

Performance & Capability

The 3.9L twin-turbo V8 delivers a blistering 600 hp, allowing for effortless highway overtaking and a top speed of 320 km/h. The 7-speed dual-clutch transmission is optimized for both smooth city crawling in Riyadh and high-speed stability on the E11. With a 0-100 km/h time of 3.5 seconds, it maintains its supercar status while remaining civilized enough for daily commutes.

Comfort & Cabin

The 2+2 seating configuration offers genuine flexibility, with the front seats designed for long-distance grand touring comfort. The dual-zone climate control is powerful enough to combat summer temperatures exceeding 45°C, and the wind deflector ensures the cabin remains conversation-friendly even at speed. The high-quality leather and brushed aluminum accents reflect Ferrari’s typical Maranello craftsmanship.

Safety

Standard safety features include carbon-ceramic discs for fade-free stopping power and F1-Track traction control to manage the V8's power on dusty or sandy road surfaces. Front and side airbags provide comprehensive protection, while the rigid chassis offers superior structural integrity for a convertible. Stability control systems are specifically tuned to provide a safety net without intruding on the car's dynamic performance.

The bottom line

This is an ideal acquisition for a GCC enthusiast seeking a low-mileage, high-resale supercar that is versatile enough for both daily Dubai traffic and weekend escapes to the mountains.
