Summary

This seven-seat SUV offers a practical solution for families needing space and reliable performance in the GCC. The white exterior is the most sought-after resale color in the local market, effectively reflecting heat during extreme summer months. With its all-wheel-drive system and a dependable V6, it balances city school runs with long-distance highway comfort across the Emirates. The SL trim provides a meaningful step up in cabin technology, making it a competitive choice against other mid-size crossovers. As a Nissan, it benefits from the region's most accessible parts and service infrastructure.

This Car vs Other 2019 Pathfinders

At 172,000 km, this vehicle has been driven approximately 24,500 km per year, which aligns perfectly with the higher annual averages typical for highway-heavy driving in the GCC. The white paintwork is a significant advantage for local resale, remaining the top choice for buyers in the UAE and Saudi Arabia. While a Canadian spec, the mechanical components are identical to local units, ensuring straightforward maintenance.

SL vs Lower Trims

The SL trim adds essential upgrades over the SV, most notably the Intelligent Around View Monitor 360-degree camera and a motion-activated power liftgate for easier loading. Inside, it features premium leather-appointed seating, a heated steering wheel, and memory settings for the driver's seat and mirrors. These comfort features, along with Blind Spot Warning as standard, provide a more refined experience than the base models.

Pathfinder vs Segment Rivals

The Pathfinder competes directly with the Toyota Highlander and Honda Pilot, leading the segment with a robust 2,722 kg towing capacity. Its EZ Flex seating system allows for easier third-row access even with a child seat installed, a feature often missing in its rivals. The 74-liter fuel tank ensures fewer stops on long cross-border drives compared to smaller-capacity competitors.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption averages roughly 10.7L/100km, performing efficiently on long highway stretches between cities like Dubai and Abu Dhabi. Nissan enjoys one of the strongest service footprints in the Middle East, with authorized centers available in almost every major town. While American and Canadian specs may depreciate slightly faster than GCC-spec cars, the Pathfinder's reputation for durability keeps its value floor high.

Performance & Capability

The 3.5L V6 produces 284 hp, providing smooth power for overtaking on fast-moving multi-lane highways. The Intelligent 4x4 system includes a selectable 4WD Lock mode, offering extra security on gravel tracks or sand-swept desert roads. Its CVT is tuned for efficiency and quiet cruising, maintaining low RPMs during steady-speed travel to enhance cabin quietness.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is designed for large families, offering seven full seats and a tri-zone climate control system with dedicated rear vents to combat high summer temperatures. The SL trim includes heated front and outboard rear seats, providing extra comfort during the cooler winter months. Acoustic glass helps isolate passengers from road noise and exterior heat, ensuring a peaceful environment for long-distance travel.

Safety

This trim features a comprehensive safety suite including Automatic Emergency Braking, Blind Spot Warning, and Rear Cross Traffic Alert to manage busy urban traffic. The Intelligent Cruise Control is particularly useful for reducing fatigue on the long desert highways of the GCC. It also includes the Nissan Advanced Airbag System and LATCH anchors for child seats across the rear rows.

The bottom line

This Pathfinder SL is an ideal match for a growing family that prioritizes towing capability and premium interior features while benefiting from Nissan's vast regional support network.
