• Three-zone Climatronic climate control standard

Summary

This 2019 Volkswagen Teramont SE is a powerhouse of family logistics, offering a cavernous seven-seat interior that genuinely accommodates adults in all three rows. As a GCC-spec model, it is factory-prepared for the region's climate with a cooling system designed for peak summer temperatures and a robust 3.6L V6 engine that provides smooth highway cruising. The SE trim strikes the ideal balance for the UAE market, providing premium tech like a rear-view camera and 8-inch touchscreen without the steep depreciation of the highest trims. With its imposing black exterior, it maintains a strong presence and high resale desirability in the local used market. For families stepping up from a standard crossover, the Teramont offers unmatched interior volume and German-engineered safety for the daily school run or long weekend drives across the Emirates.

This Car vs Other 2019 Teramonts

At 142,332 km, this Teramont has been used as a primary family vehicle, which is typical for the long-distance highway commutes common between Dubai and Abu Dhabi. While many 2019 models see similar high usage, this vehicle benefits from being a GCC-spec SE trim, which holds a value premium over base trims due to its enhanced tech suite. The black exterior is one of the most sought-after colors for resale in the UAE, ensuring it remains a liquid asset for its next owner.

SE vs Lower Trims

The SE trim is a significant upgrade over the entry-level S, adding essential GCC comfort features such as the 8-inch Composition Media touchscreen and 3-zone Climatronic AC to keep all seven passengers cool. It also includes the V-Tex leatherette seating, which is far more durable and easier to clean than the fabric found in lower trims. Practical additions like the Kessy keyless access and push-button start provide the daily convenience expected in this segment.

Teramont vs Segment Rivals

The Teramont stands out against rivals like the Chevrolet Traverse and Ford Explorer by offering a class-leading 583 litres of boot space even with the third row in use. Its wheelbase is longer than many competitors, translating to superior legroom in the middle and rear rows, making it a truer seven-seater than others in its class. Additionally, the German-engineered cabin isolation provides a quieter highway experience during high-speed desert crossings.

Running Costs & Resale

The 3.6L V6 engine is a reliable naturally aspirated unit that avoids the complexity of turbochargers, leading to predictable long-term maintenance costs in the UAE. Fuel consumption averages approximately 11.7 L/100km, which is competitive for a vehicle of this size during long-distance highway driving. Volkswagen has an extensive authorized service network across the UAE and Saudi Arabia, ensuring parts availability and expert care. The Teramont is known for stable value retention in the GCC family SUV market, typically outperforming its American segment rivals.

Performance & Capability

Delivering 276 hp and 361 Nm of torque, the Teramont provides steady, linear power delivery that makes overtaking on fast-moving highways like E11 effortless. The 8-speed automatic transmission is tuned for smoothness rather than aggressive shifts, prioritizing the comfort of all seven passengers. While primarily road-focused, its 198 mm ground clearance and specialized drive modes allow it to handle gravel tracks and light desert terrain for weekend camping trips.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is designed around 'serious family fun,' featuring 17 cupholders and an easy-access third row that can be reached with one hand, even with child seats installed in the second row. The three-zone climate control includes dedicated vents for all three rows, a critical feature for maintaining comfort during the peak GCC summer months. Acoustic glass helps keep the cabin serene, filtering out wind noise during long-distance family road trips.

Safety

Safety is a hallmark of the Teramont, featuring a multi-collision brake system that helps prevent secondary impacts after an initial accident. This SE trim comes standard with a high-resolution rear-view camera and acoustic parking sensors, vital for navigating large SUVs in tight Dubai parking spaces. The vehicle is equipped with a comprehensive airbag suite and electronic stability control systems designed to maintain traction on sandy or rain-slicked road surfaces.

The bottom line

This Teramont is the perfect choice for a growing family that needs maximum interior space and German reliability without the premium price tag of a new model. It represents a sensible, high-utility investment for a buyer who prioritizes passenger comfort and strong resale potential in the local market.
