Summary

This 7-year-old Touareg Highline is a standout find in the GCC market, combining unusually low mileage of just 48,000 km with the region's preferred silver exterior for maximum resale stability. While it shares the robust MLB Evo platform with the Porsche Cayenne and Audi Q7, the Touareg offers a more understated executive profile that handles the UAE's high-speed highway commutes with exceptional refinement. The Highline trim specifically bridges the gap to the luxury segment, featuring the expansive Innovision Cockpit that remains one of the most advanced digital interfaces in its class. For a buyer seeking German engineering without the high depreciation typical of its badge-heavy rivals, this specific vehicle represents a mechanically sound and highly practical choice.

This Car vs Other 2019 Touaregs

With only 48,000 km on the odometer, this vehicle has covered significantly less ground than the GCC average of 20,000–25,000 km per year. Finding a 7-year-old SUV in the region with such low usage is rare and indicates a life of limited, likely urban commuting. The silver exterior is one of the most practical and sought-after colors in the UAE and Saudi Arabia, as it masks desert dust effectively and maintains strong demand in the secondary market.

Highline vs Lower Trims

The Highline trim is a major step up from the Trendline and Comfortline, most notably introducing the massive 15-inch Discover Premium infotainment screen and 12-inch Digital Cockpit. This specific trim also adds premium touches essential for the GCC climate, such as upgraded leather upholstery and advanced LED matrix headlights that provide superior visibility on unlit desert highways. It also standardizes larger alloy wheels and enhanced driver assistance systems that are often optional on base models.

Touareg vs Segment Rivals

The Touareg leads competitors like the Volvo XC90 and BMW X5 in pure cargo practicality, offering a massive 810-litre boot that easily accommodates family weekend trips. While rivals often lean into firm sportiness, the Touareg is tuned for the long-distance comfort required for cross-emirate travel, utilizing a sophisticated all-wheel-drive system that feels more planted than the Jeep Grand Cherokee at highway speeds.

Running Costs & Resale

The 3.0L V6 petrol engine delivers a balanced real-world fuel consumption of approximately 8.9 to 11.4 L/100km, which is efficient for a large SUV during long GCC highway drives. Maintenance in the UAE and wider region is supported by an extensive authorized service network, with recommended service intervals every 10,000 km to protect the engine against high summer temperatures. As a GCC-spec model, it retains value better than imported counterparts and benefits from a parts supply chain that is both robust and widely available.

Performance & Capability

Producing 340 hp, this V6 power plant enables a swift 0–100 km/h sprint in just 5.9 seconds, making highway overtaking effortless. The 4MOTION all-wheel-drive system provides consistent traction on sand-dusted roads and gravel, while the 8-speed automatic transmission is geared for smooth, relaxed cruising. With a maximum ground clearance of up to 259mm, it is well-equipped for weekend excursions and handles the varying terrain of the GCC with confidence.

Comfort & Cabin

Inside, the 'Innovision Cockpit' creates a futuristic environment dominated by a curved glass surface that integrates all major vehicle controls. The five-seat layout provides generous legroom for all passengers, and the cabin is exceptionally well-insulated against the heat and road noise common on Sheikh Zayed Road. The air conditioning system is specifically calibrated for the GCC, ensuring rapid cooling even after the car has been parked in the sun.

Safety

This Touareg comes equipped with a comprehensive safety suite including adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, and lane-keeping assist, all of which are invaluable for fast-moving UAE traffic. The Highline trim also features multiple airbags and advanced stability control systems designed to maintain composure on unpredictable surfaces like loose sand or rain-slicked asphalt. Its robust construction earned it a 5-star Euro NCAP rating, providing peace of mind for family use.

The bottom line

For the executive buyer or family looking for a low-mileage, tech-forward SUV that avoids the spotlight, this silver GCC-spec Touareg Highline is the most sensible luxury choice currently on the market.
