Summary

This 2022 Volkswagen Teramont Comfortline is a highly strategic family buy, offering a generous 7-seat configuration that rivals the space of full-sized SUVs. At four years old with 76,089 km, its mileage is exactly in line with the typical 20,000 km annual average for the GCC, indicating it has been used consistently for the long-distance highway travel it was built for. The Blue exterior is a sophisticated choice that maintains strong resale appeal in the UAE and wider region, standing out from the sea of white and silver while remaining easy to maintain. As a Comfortline trim, it provides a significant tech and safety upgrade over the base model, including essential driver assistance for the region's fast-moving multi-lane roads. For any family needing true adult space in the third row without moving to a bulky body-on-frame vehicle, this Teramont is a leading choice.

This Car vs Other 2022 Teramonts

With 76,089 km on the odometer, this vehicle sits perfectly at the average usage mark for a four-year-old SUV in the GCC. While some low-mileage examples exist, they often command a disproportionate premium; this car offers the better value balance, showing it has been properly exercised on the highways rather than idling in city traffic. The Blue metallic paint is a high-demand color in the secondary market, providing a distinct advantage for future resale value.

Comfortline vs Lower Trims

Moving up to the Comfortline from the Trendline adds several must-have features for the local climate, most notably the panoramic sunroof and upgraded leatherette upholstery that is more durable against heat and sand. It also introduces critical safety tech like Adaptive Cruise Control and Front Assist, which are transformative for the long commutes between Emirates. This trim also typically includes the 8-inch touchscreen with wireless App-Connect, making cabin tech feel significantly more modern.

Teramont vs Segment Rivals

The Teramont dominates segment rivals like the Toyota Highlander and Ford Explorer when it comes to third-row practicality, offering 856mm of legroom that actually fits adults comfortably. Its 70-litre fuel tank is sized for the vast distances of the GCC, ensuring fewer stops on cross-border drives. While Japanese rivals lean on hybrid efficiency, the Teramont’s German-engineered V6 provides a more planted, high-speed stability that is superior on the 140 km/h motorways of the UAE and Saudi Arabia.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for the 3.6L V6 typically averages around 10.5L/100km on the highway, though this will increase in heavy Dubai or Riyadh traffic. As a GCC-spec vehicle, it benefits from a robust cooling system and a massive authorized service network (such as Al Nabooda or Ali & Sons) that ensures parts are readily available and affordable. The Teramont holds its value well in the region, typically seeing a depreciation curve of roughly 12-15% annually, which is competitive for a European SUV in this segment.

Performance & Capability

The 280 hp V6 engine is the preferred choice for this region, providing the necessary torque for overtaking at highway speeds even when fully loaded with seven passengers. While it isn't a desert dunes specialist, the 4Motion all-wheel-drive system provides excellent traction on gravel tracks and during the occasional heavy rain in the Northern Emirates. With an 8-speed automatic transmission, the power delivery is smooth and refined, making long-distance cruising effortless.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is specifically designed for family logistics, featuring 17 cupholders and a middle row that slides forward easily even with a child seat attached. The three-zone climate control is a lifesaver during the 45°C summer months, ensuring that the third-row passengers receive the same cooling priority as the driver. Superior cabin insulation helps keep the interior quiet and protected from the intense exterior heat and road noise.

Safety

This Comfortline comes equipped with a comprehensive safety suite, including Blind Spot Monitoring and Rear Cross Traffic Alert, which are essential for navigating busy multi-lane highways. It features six airbags and a high-strength safety cage that has earned top safety ratings globally. The inclusion of ISOFIX points across the rear rows makes it one of the most flexible and secure options for families with multiple young children.

The bottom line

This is the ideal opportunity for a growing family that needs maximum interior volume and German build quality without the price tag of a brand-new model. Its service-ready mileage and desirable spec make it a turnkey solution for GCC life.
