Summary

This 2020 Ferrari 812 GTS represents a rare opportunity to own the open-top evolution of Maranello's most powerful naturally aspirated V12 production engine. With just 13,500 km, this silver convertible has been driven sparingly, well below the typical GCC annual average, making it an excellent candidate for collectors and enthusiasts alike. The 812 GTS stands alone in its segment as a front-engined V12 roadster, offering a visceral driving experience that its turbocharged or hybrid-assisted rivals cannot replicate. Finished in a classic silver that commands high resale interest in the regional market, this Korean-spec example offers a competitive entry point into high-tier supercar ownership. For the GCC buyer, this car delivers the ultimate combination of grand touring comfort and track-ready performance on well-maintained regional highways.

This Car vs Other 2020 812 GTSs

With only 13,500 km on the odometer, this vehicle has covered significantly less distance than the average 2020 model in the UAE, which often sees 20,000 km or more annually. The silver exterior is a highly desirable 'safe' color in the GCC market, typically facilitating a faster resale and better value retention compared to experimental or niche paint codes. As a 2020 model, it benefits from being part of the inaugural production year for the GTS, a milestone year for Ferrari's return to the front-engined V12 spider series.

GTS vs Lower Trims

The GTS is the premier open-air variant of the 812 series, adding a power-retractable hardtop that transforms the car in just 14 seconds at speeds up to 45 km/h. Unlike the Superfast coupe, the GTS features a redesigned rear section and an electric rear screen that serves as a wind-stop, allowing for comfortable high-speed driving even with the roof down. It also utilizes shorter gear ratios in the 7-speed dual-clutch transmission to maintain the same explosive acceleration despite the necessary structural reinforcements for the convertible chassis.

812 vs Segment Rivals

The 812 GTS competes with the Lamborghini Aventador S Roadster and the Aston Martin DBS Volante. While rivals rely on all-wheel-drive systems or turbocharging, the Ferrari leads with a pure, naturally aspirated 800 hp V12 that revs to 8,900 RPM, offering a more immediate throttle response and a historic exhaust note. Its front-mid-engine layout provides superior boot space and grand-touring usability compared to the cramped, mid-engined alternatives often found in this performance bracket.

Running Costs & Resale

Ferrari V12 models maintain exceptional value in the GCC due to their status as the final naturally aspirated era of Maranello production, typically depreciating at a slower rate than V8 equivalents. Service intervals are recommended every 10,000 km or annually, with official Ferrari service centers widely available across the UAE and Saudi Arabia to maintain the digital service history. As a Korean-spec vehicle, it offers a lower initial purchase price, though buyers should verify local warranty compatibility at authorized regional dealers.

Performance & Capability

The 812 GTS is capable of a blistering 340 km/h top speed, making it one of the fastest convertibles in the world and perfectly suited for the UAE's expansive highway network. The 6.5L V12 produces 718 Nm of torque, with 80% available from just 3,500 RPM to ensure effortless overtaking and high-speed cruising. Rear-wheel steering (Virtual Short Wheelbase 2.0) and Side Slip Control 5.0 work in harmony to provide agility that masks the car’s grand-touring dimensions, ensuring it feels remarkably nimble through technical corners.

Comfort & Cabin

The two-seat cockpit is designed for long-distance luxury, featuring high-quality leather and an ergonomic layout that places all vital controls on the steering wheel. The climate control system is engineered to maintain cabin temperature effectively even in the heat of a GCC summer, and the retractable hardtop offers the same thermal and acoustic insulation as a coupe when closed. The 210-litre boot capacity is specifically shaped to accommodate bespoke Ferrari luggage, making it a genuinely practical choice for weekend trips between emirates.

Safety

Safety is managed through an advanced suite of electronic aids, including carbon-ceramic brakes (CCM3) as standard for fade-free stopping power in extreme temperatures. The car features high-performance ABS with Ferrari Pre-Fill to reduce response times, alongside F1-Trac traction control and an E-Diff3 electronic differential to maintain stability on diverse road surfaces. Front and side airbags provide comprehensive occupant protection within the reinforced chassis.

The bottom line

This 812 GTS is the definitive choice for the GCC collector seeking the raw emotion of a V12 Ferrari with the added prestige of a retractable hardtop and exceptionally low mileage.
